Minimum Relevant Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role preferably within a Fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry.

Nestlé Ghana Limited is seeking a Site E&A Engineer to work closely with the Factory Engineer, Production Manager, and regional/zone engineering leaders, participate in CAPEX projects, lead audit readiness on E&A topics, and shape the digital future of the factory.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, train, and mentor the factory Electrical, Automation & Instrumentation team.
  • Manage the factory electrical and automation and instrumentation infrastructure from design through to installation, maintenance, operation, improvement and upgrade as part of a site electrical and automation strategy.
  • Own the factory electrical safety program (arc flash, LOTO, safe work permits) and ensure full compliance with corporate and local standards.
  • Manage the factory calibration program, ensuring schedule compliance, traceability and full compliance for food-safety-critical instruments.
  • Drive process control optimization through loop tuning and instrumentation reliability to improve product quality and process stability.
  • Participates in Capital Investments projects in the factory ensuring that the technical solution follows corporate and market standards.
  • Responsible for preparation of the user and technical specifications.
  • Ensure that Change Management is in place to appropriately manage modifications in the MES, E&A and Instrumentation solutions.
  • Play a key role in the continuous improvement of the factory through mastering the process and product characteristics.
  • Supervise and coordinate Electrical, Automation, Instrumentation and MES maintenance and project work by internal teams and contractors.
  • Co-ordinate with Production, Quality Management and Engineering to resolve E&A, Instrumentation and MES issues.
  • Develop a deep insight of the processes, and continuously strive for the improvement of quality, safety or efficiency while protecting the technological know-how and competitive advantage.
  • Participates in the implementation of engineering and digital tools at site level.
  • Ensure that all MES-E&A installations comply with market and corporate safety, health, environment, product safety and product quality standards.
  • Ensures that the key MES-E&A documentation is up to date and in place (i.e. SLD, URS, FDS, Calibration procedures, etc.). Participates in the M&I activities in the factory.
  • Create the competencies (CBP) of the Electrical & Automation team.

 

What will make you successful in this role:

  • Strong and highly developed electrical and automation fault-finding and problem analysis.
  • Solid knowledge of process instrumentation (flow, level, pressure, temperature, analytical) and calibration management.
  • Experience in loop tuning and process control optimization.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and implement CAPEX projects.
  • Experience in Project Management is an advantage.
  • Experience working in a multifunctional team (operations, safety, quality).
