Position Summary

We are looking for an Electrical & Electronics Technician based at our Sterling Factory reporting the Controls and Automation Team Leader. This role is responsible for Maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.

A day in the life of...

  • Proactively execute the needs of a 24/7 operation while being able to respond to changing demands with short notice.
  • Maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of High-Speed PLC Controlled Processes and Packaging Equipment.
  • Use and maintenance of Programmable Logic Controllers, instrumentation and PC to observe and repair machine function.
  • Maintenance of electrical Plant Utilities such as lighting and emergency lighting/generators.
  • Calibration of Process Control Instruments and Controllers.
  • Advise on problem resolution and the procurement of material and equipment for individual jobs.
  • Assist in project work, equipment modifications and new installations as required.
  • Keep machine file documentation system current and updated.
  • Ensure the EET Shop is stocked with small parts and maintained in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Communicate clearly with Maintenance, Engineering and Production personnel.
  • Ensure all overtime work is recorded daily and submitted to the Maintenance Supervisor on time.
  • Practice safe working methods as per the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations and Internal Management Policies in order to protect personnel and equipment.
  • Ensure instrumentation equipment in the shop and personal tools are operational and safe to use. Any defective equipment is to be returned for repair or replaced.

What will make you successful

  • A Licensed Electrician with an Ontario Journeyman’s Electrical License and a working knowledge of electronics.
  • Membership or eligibility for the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists is required
  • A working knowledge of electronics
  • Experience of Key Standard Routines and Predictive Maintenance tools & Systems is required
  • Knowledge and/or Working experience in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) especially PM Pillar is preferred.
  • Can thoroughly understand company policies and procedures.
  • Strong computer skills, with working knowledge of factory systems and SAP highly desired.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and excel at working within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and leadership skills and can deliver results through people
