POSITION: Facility Operator
BUSINESS UNIT: Sterling Road Factory
LOCATION: Toronto , Ontario
REPORTS TO: Facilities Manager
Nestlé Canada Confectionary has an immediate opening for a Facility Operator (replacement role) to join the Maintenance team at our chocolate manufacturing plant in Toronto, Ontario. This is a full time position and may involve shift rotation and weekend work depending on business needs.

A day in the life of...
• Performs work related to the day-to-day operation and maintenance of facilities equipment, such as Boiler/ Chiller (Ammonia,…)/ Air compressor/ Air handling units/ Waste water treatment/ lab test…,Building/ Elevator/ Fire fighting system/…, ensure the safety/ quality/ reliability/ cost optimization.
• Maintain a high degree of understanding and competency on related Standard Operating Procedures.
• Interpret, troubleshoot and operate the required computer systems providing accurate and timely information to efficiently operate the equipment.
• Executing preventive maintenance work orders as assigned and on time.
• Do water analysis (boiler water, steam condensate, cooled water,…).
• Record the usage of Energy and water.
• Provide and maintain accurate documentation (equipment data, water testing result,..)
• Ensure the compliance to government standards and regulations and Nestle standards, ensure the safety/ quality/ reliability/ cost optimization.
• Adhere to and enforce Health & Safety OHSAS 18001, Environmental ISO14001, and Quality FSSC 22000/NQMS programs.
• Perform duties in accordance with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 requirement.
Other:
• Support and/or back-up other HVAC mechanics as needed with factory operations.
• Pro-actively work with internal and external service departments on repairs to equipment and facility and aiding as needed.
• Perform housekeeping duties ensuring equipment and surrounding areas are orderly (5S), clean and satisfy Nestle Quality Standards.
• Actively participate in Continuous Improvements and the Nestle Continuous Excellence process.
• To observe all safety regulations and good housekeeping practices including cleaning up of workplace. To exercise care while carrying out all jobs so that care is taken of company property.
• To take all necessary steps to eliminate wastage of materials, energy, etc.
What will make you successful?
• Valid Ontario Certificate of Qualification as an Operating Engineer – 3rd Class (or higher), and/or Refrigeration Class A or B, required.
• Valid Ontario Ozone Depletion Prevention Card, preferred.
• Valid Ontario Certificate of Qualification as a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic, preferred.
• Minimum Grade 12 and competency in basic mathematics with the ability to prepare reports and determine departmental efficiencies, including working with fractions and percentages.
• Analytical, literacy and comprehension skills to interpret and understand, analyze and troubleshoot operating specifications, technical procedure manuals, and safety regulations.
• Excellent mechanical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
• A team player with excellent attendance and interpersonal skills!
