What to Expect:

Join our team as an HR Manager for our Confectionery Factory, where you’ll play a key role in driving people and business success. Reporting to the Regional HR Manager and part of the site leadership team, you will lead HR operations in a unionized environment—delivering end-to-end HR support to both hourly and salaried employees and executing people strategies that directly impact performance and culture. This role is an existing vacancy.

 

A day in the life:

  • Execute HR Strategy: Drive end-to-end people strategies to attract, develop, and retain talent, enabling delivery of the business plan and seamless rollout of global and local HR initiatives.
  • Lead Labour Relations: Serve as the site expert on labour relations, ensuring compliant interpretation of collective agreements and effective management of grievances, arbitrations, and dispute resolution.
  • Oversee Core HR Operations: Manage full-cycle HR processes (recruitment, payroll, benefits, scheduling), ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with policies and legislation.
  • Drive Organizational Effectiveness: Lead change and transformation initiatives, shaping culture and coaching leaders on core people processes and organizational design.
  • Enable Performance & Talent Growth: Champion performance management, calibration, and development planning to build strong talent pipelines and support business outcomes.
  • Foster Engagement, Wellbeing & Compliance: Cultivate an inclusive, safe, and high-performing workplace while overseeing training, health & wellness programs, and regulatory compliance.

 

Role Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including demonstrated leadership experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.
  • Strong expertise in Labour Relations, including comprehensive knowledge of employment law and its interpretation.
  • Experience with Learning & Development, Employee Relations, Compensation & Benefits, Recruitment & Performance Management
  • Proven experience in coaching and development of people.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.

 

 

Preferred Skills

  • Professional HR designation and additional industrial relations training

Compensation Range: 111,000-146,000 CAD+ bonus eligibility
