Position Snapshot

As part of the essential functional service group, you are responsible for supporting and maintaining the services of the Factory and its equipment. You are punctual, able to work rotating shifts, reliable and have a good understanding of the Factory operation. You support work group activities to achieve established factory goals.

Position Summary

Major Duties of the Position:

1. Effectively troubleshoot packaging and production equipment.

2. Timely set-up of production equipment as required.

3. Maintain equipment in excellent repair, performing timely preventative maintenance (PM) as per schedules and work orders issued.

4. Actively initiate and perform any cost saving ideas.

5. Ensure equipment logbook is maintained and stores withdraw vouchers, work orders and PM sheets are filled in completely and accurately using the corresponding computer system.

6. Adhere to all factory, quality, GMPs, safety and trade related regulations and codes.

7. Other duties as assigned.

 

A day in the life of...

Working Conditions:

Physical Effort: - Some heavy physical activities (lifting and reaching) - Walking / standing frequently - Push/pull - Shift work (rotating 3 shifts with overtime as required). Call-ins as required.

Physical Environment - Some exposure to noise (80 – 95 DB) with PPE. - Exposure to moving mechanical components, various energies - Wet and slippery conditions - Temperatures 40-90 degrees F. - Some exposure to ammonia vapour and chemicals - Wearing of PPE

What will make you successful

1. Grade 12 education

2. Must have valid Red Seal Industrial Mechanic Millwright license (433A) and a valid Industrial Mechanic Certificate of Apprenticeship

3. Food Manufacturing experience preferred

4. Strong mechanical skills

5. Excellent team player. Self-motivated with ability to work independently.

6. Must provide required tools

7. Strong machine shop, fabrication, rigging and preventative maintenance skills.

8. Ability to operate walkie, counterbalance and double-reach fork trucks (training provided).
