We are recruiting for an Area Quality Manager to join our team at our state-of-the-art coffee manufacturing plant in Tutbury, Derbyshire. Reporting to the Factory Quality Manager, we are looking for a proactive and responsible individual with drive, enthusiasm and an ability to focus on detail. This is a 12-month fixed term contract.
Nestlé Tutbury Factory in Derbyshire is one of the largest Nestlé factories in Europe after circa £500 million investment over the last few years. The factory is a Centre of excellence for Nescafé products around the world producing freeze-dried, spray dried and pod coffee technologies and is at the forefront of coffee innovation globally.

Your impact
Ultimately, you will be responsible for leading the daily operations of food safety and quality systems, ensuring that product and process compliance is upheld before the final release of products.
This is essential for maintaining the food safety and quality of our products and protecting the Nescafé brand by coaching and verification.
Within this role, you will also have line management responsibilities for 2 direct reports.
Your other key responsibilities will include:
- Required to ensure operators have a good knowledge and understanding of the process and product norms. Through online evaluation and coaching, you will ensure the operational team achieve optimum product control.
- Alongside the local leadership team and QA team to embed a continuous improvement mind-set to support the achievement of the Operational Master Plan.
- Creating strategies and priorities for the line to deliver the drivers for the OMP in all key areas.
- Accountable for team capability, succession planning and all aspects of people management, including attendance management, disciplinary and development reviews.
- Provide coverage for QA Technicians during their holidays
Your ingredients for success
To be successful in this role you will already have strong experience within a Quality role and previous leadership experience will be a distinct advantage.
You will also hold a recognised Quality qualification – The below qualifications would be preferred:
- HACCP Level 3
- FSSC 22000
- Food Safety Level 3
Other key criteria:
- A good level of numeracy and literacy is required, along with proficiency in computer systems (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Globe).
- Will have the ability to work in a team and communicate with people at all levels
- A clear, strategic vision.
- Ability to challenge the norm and find opportunities for process improvement.
