Position Summary
We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Automation Team here at the Tutbury Factory.
You will provide Digital support across the factory, ensuring that all MES-IT/Automation activities enhance business objectives, product quality and plant performance, and provide technical expertise.
The Nestlé Tutbury Factory in Derbyshire is one of the largest Nestlé factories in Europe after circa £500 million investment over the last few years.
The factory is a Centre of excellence for Nescafé products around the world producing freeze-dried, spray dried and pod coffee technologies and is at the forefront of coffee innovation globally.
The factory is moving forward with continuous improvement principles and actively developing Lean/TPM processes so it’s an exciting time to be involved.
A day in the life of a Digital Engineer
You will report to the Information & Automation Systems Manager, developing and supporting the digitalization of the factory floor and industrialize digital tools. This role would focus on implementing digital solutions, supporting the digital roadmap and ensure compliance.
Other key day to day activities will be:
- Support with Microsoft Power Applications creation, maintenance, and improvement.
- Digital tool implementation: The engineer would be responsible for implementing various digital tools and technologies on the factory floor.
- Support adherence to digital road map using digital solutions and tools.
- Digitalize factory floor through improvement, new proposals and enhancing operational processes.
- To support the factory in FFIT (Factory Floor Information Technology) compliance, as well as server patching and server migrations.
- Support Digital Specialist role.
What will make you successful
To be successful in this key role we expect you to ideally have proficient use in digital tools and collaborate with internal stakeholders with lots of proactive initiative and attention to detail.
Key attributes:
- Proficient in Microsoft Power Platforms
- Proficient in Microsoft Platforms
- Data Transfer, communication and networking systems.
- Database interrogation (SQL)
- Microsoft Windows Server Management and Use.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable Attributes:
- Knowledge of PC, PLC, Database and SCADA Systems.
- Working knowledge of ROCKWELL Automation equipment (ALLEN BRADELY).
- Wonderware InTouch development.
- Software development including FAS, PLC and HMI.
