Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity at our Nescafé Beverage Manufacturing site in Tutbury, we are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join our Industrial Services team, you will specialise in supporting our Effluent processes at site, to join our team based at our Nestlé Beverage factory in Tutbury.
The Effluent plant at Nestlé Tutbury is one of the biggest Effluent management systems that we have at any of our sites here in the UK, this opportunity is rare and will allow you to become a true specialist with our support. You will support the effective processing of coffee and wastewater across the site using technologies such as solids separation, biological treatment and reverse osmosis.
Nestlé Tutbury Factory in Staffordshire is one of the largest Nestlé factories in Europe after a £250 million investment over the last few years. The factory produces several of the most well known Nescafé products in the world through freeze-dried, spray dried, pod coffee production technologies and is at the forefront of coffee production globally.
Manufacturing in Nestlé is all about ensuring the consumer receives a perfect quality product, at the right time and place whilst driving losses from our business in order to maximise efficiency & productivity.
A day in the life of a Maintenance Engineer
Reporting to the Boiler and Effluent Maintenance Engineer Specialist, you will support and participate in the implementation and execution of the department asset
maintenance strategy aimed to eliminate unplanned stops and reduce maintenance costs and as a result increase asset intensity.
Other responsibilities will include:
• Drive plant reliability through effective coordination and coaching whilst delivering fixed cost reductions.
• Coordination and implementation of the departmental maintenance strategy.
• Analysis of breakdowns, with a root cause mindset, taking ownership of follow up actions and roll out.
• Supporting the capability build across the department with a strong competency build plan.
• Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practice standards in respect of plant, tools and environment.
• Support and participate in the implementation of applicable standards and drive compliance across the department.
• When required support the wider IS team with other factory utilities & services including clean water treatment, combustion/steam boilers, coffee grounds handling, pressure systems, legionella management, and refrigeration systems.
• Support and challenge your colleagues to maintain all company standards.
What will make you successful
The person that is successful in this role will be determined to drive improvement in the Industrial Services department. You may be experienced in Industrial Services or an engineer who has recently moved off a graduate scheme and is looking for a specialism, we are open and truly want to support individuals grow their career with Nestlé.
Other experiences and attributes would include:
• Educated to a minimum of HNC and NVQ level 3/City & Guilds or equivalent or a relevant BEng degree in an engineering discipline. Both Electrical or Mechanical Bias will also be considered.
• Knowledge of biological wastewater treatment would be a distinct advantage
• Experience in an ‘Industrial Services’ environment with either all or some knowledge of Industrial Services (clean water treatment, combustion/steam raising equipment, refrigeration systems, wastewater treatment).
• Have a hands-on, practical approach to your work, along with a can-do attitude.
• Can work as part of a team delivering compliance in safety and quality.
• Ability to influence by having strong inter person skills.
• Have excellent problem solving and prioritisation skills.
• Naturally able to lead, challenge and build capability.
• Ability to communicate across all levels and work on own initiative.
• Manage and prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment.
• Good Knowledge and understanding of both continuous excellence and TPM.
• Experience of Asset Maintenance systems, SAP systems and Reporting (advantageous but not essential).
