We currently have exciting opportunities for Technical Operators to work within our Packaging Department, based at our state-of-the-art production plant in Tutbury.
This area of the factory plays a key role in our production operations and product lifecycle and is one of the final stops on the journey to the customer. The whole factory employs over 600 people and roughly 250 of those work in packaging. This role would be part of a wider shift team with up to 25 people working but your working groups can be from 5-10 directly.
You will be utilizing our world class machinery to package our brilliant Nescafe products. You will play a key role in ensuring quality standards are high, whilst operating in a safe and controlled manner. This role can lead to fantastic team leading opportunities and on occasion we have seen people take a journey within our engineering teams.

12-hour shift pattern(6 till 6) on days and nights on a 3 week cycle as follows,
Your impact
The ultimate aim of this role is to be responsible for the efficient running of production lines within the area, reducing lost production time by keeping repairs and breakdowns to an absolute minimum.
Other responsibilities will include
- You will need to be competent in problem solving skills in a process environment, ideally with experience in TPM and GSTD methodologies.
- The successful applicant will be able to monitor and operate equipment, identifying and responding to faults as they occur.
- You will have a proactive, logical approach to your duties and be process/mechanically minded.
- It is essential that you have the ability to work as part of a team, delivering compliance in safety, quality, cost and delivery.
- Be able to demonstrate Nestle competencies and behaviours.

- Experience in a manufacturing and production environment.
- Previous Line Operator experience or similar is preferable.
- Will have good numeracy and literacy skills, have a mechanical aptitude and a knowledge of computer systems including SAP, DMO, POKA as well as Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Will have the ability to work as part of a team delivering compliance in safety, quality and production processes.
- Will be able to communicate effectively with multiple functions displaying one team mentality.
