Position Summary

In this role, as a Factory Quality Manager, you will:

  • Act as a catalyst and pathfinder, partnering with other functions to ensure trust and consumer preference improvements through appropriate actions and resources;
  • Develop autonomy, empower and engage people to build a high-performing organization that drives standards and continuous improvement, with the aim of being best in class;
  • Ensure that products are released on time and in compliance with internal and external requirements;
  • Challenge other functions to drive and ensure right-first-time execution, product defect elimination, proper risk management and risk-based decision-making, as well as continuous improvement; you will also be the guardian of food safety and compliance at the factory, providing leadership and support in achieving business objectives.

You will report to the Factory Manager and manage a team of 10 people.

 

A day in the life of a Factory Quality Manager

-Assure Food Safety and Compliance:

  • Responsible for adherence to all Company Quality principles and policies, as well as local laws and regulations;
  • Responsible for compliance with food safety and external requirements (national and international);
  • Responsible for ensuring that factory food safety management systems and HACCP programs are implemented and maintained;
  • Responsible for factory laboratory operations and compliance, including personnel safety, equipment availability, and technician training;
  • Ensure adherence to good hygienic practices in the factory;
  • Ensure the factory pest management program is implemented and compliant;
  • Collaborate with other functions to set up, manage, enforce and maintain the Management System.

 

-Strive for Zero Defects & No Waste at the Factory

  • Lead quality failure analyses and initiatives to eliminate defects;
  • Ensure the timely release of finished products;
  • Promote and support the cross-fertilization of manufacturing excellence best practices, knowledge, standards, and improvements;
  • Promote the sharing of best practices;
  • Liaise with other departments, functions, Application Groups, and the Business to drive continuous improvement.   

 

-Ensure Consistency

  • Support the Idea to Launch process;
  • Collaborate with other functions to drive improvements in the manufacturing of products that consistently deliver consumer preference.

 

-Ensure Development of Competencies in Quality

  • Align and develop the quality organizational structure and ensure succession plans are in place;
  • Ensure the development of people through career management (experience), coaching, and training;
  • Convey corporate culture and management principles at all levels;
  • Invest time in coaching their teams;
  • Foster a healthy employee relations climate.
