POSITION SUMMARY

The Sensory & Laboratory Coordinator is responsible for managing the implementation and execution of sensory and laboratory activities in the Factory ensuring alignment to all Nestlé standards with a continuous improvement mindset, supports with TPM (Q-Pillar) implementation, Quality and Food Safety compliance/ audits with Internal and External auditors and increasing the competency of the Laboratory Technicians in alignment with the TPM methodology.

 

A DAY IN THE LIFE …

  • Implements the sensory program, ensuring sensory evaluations for raw materials, semi-finished, and finished products are conducted and released.
  • Organizes investigations into sensory evaluation non-conformities and manages consumer complaint reports, including data trending.
  • Ensures timely completion of sensory evaluations for finished products and conducts Keeping Quality Tests according to Nestlé standards.
  • Performs gap assessments for IN/OUT tests, defines action plans for compliance, and supports the definition of IN/OUT Acceptability Limits.
  • Organizes recruitment, training, and maintenance of sensory panels.
  • Ensures compliance with Good Laboratory Practices and SHE standards, conducting annual audits and corrective actions.
  • Oversees training and execution of proficiency tests and job verifications, following up on results and performing root cause analyses as needed.
  • Ensures compliant laboratory operations, safety, equipment availability, and quality control, while establishing competence development plans for laboratory technicians.
  • Validates and monitors laboratory methods and manages analyses performed by external labs.

                       

WHAT MAKES YOU SUCCESSFUL

  • Technical degree in a scientific or food-related field and basic scientific and statistical knowledge.
  • Demonstrated competence in the specific field to support business requirements, including being a team member in Factory (QA, Production, AG).
  • Experience in recruiting, training, and managing a sensory panel, along with working knowledge of sensory methodologies (e.g., difference testing and QA) is preferred,
  • Familiarity with computers, ideally with knowledge of dedicated software for sensory data acquisition and/or analysis.
  • Skills in sensory leadership, objective analysis, convincing communication, diplomacy, and coaching.
