Position Summary
As a Global Litigation Lead you will provide the necessary competence, transparency and consistency to ensure effective dispute management at a Group level.

A day in the life of a Global Litigation Lead
- Manage the development and implementation of a Group Litigation Strategy, improving wins over losses
- Maintain visibility of litigation at a Group level and monitoring the litigation risk profile of the Group (including the preparation litigation reports for the Executive Board and Board)
- Oversight and management of all Centre litigation, while ensuring with Centre and Market teams that significant litigation is managed consistently
- Oversight of Brand IP and Patent opposition portfolios to ensure consistency of approach and litigation against sensitive competitors
- Responsible for the organization of the Litigation Council and for facilitating a Litigation Centre of Competence with the identified litigation experts in the Markets.
- Introduce and communicate best practices and learnings in litigation case management (including opposition best practices in Brand IP and Patents)
- Maintain an active relationship with key external litigation counsel, monitoring cost and quality of service, managing conflicts and monitoring external litigation trends and best practices
- Ensure we manage (and leverage where appropriate) existing commercial relationships with counterparties
- Create and implement a choice of law and jurisdiction policy in order to manage contractual risk coherently at a Group level
- Track and optimize litigation spend; identifying and using IT tools to facilitate cost-effectiveness
What will make you successful
- Minimum 10 years' experience of litigation and dispute management in Europe
- Qualification as a lawyer in a European jurisdiction
- Proven track record in intellectual property litigation
- Proactive, analytical, clear and accurate communicator
- Ready and able to litigate aggressively when required
- Fluency in the English Language is essential
