Position Summary 

 

As the Head of Group Risk Management, you will be responsible for overseeing and leading the organization's risk management framework, fostering a strong risk-aware culture, and ensuring the identification, assessment, and management of material risks that may impact the achievement of the Group's objectives. You will provide guidance and analysis to the Executive Board and senior management on the risk profile, report risks to the Executive Board and Audit Committee, and ensure compliance with external regulatory obligations.

 

A Day in the Life of the Head of Group Risk Management

 

  • Implement a standardized risk assessment approach to promote effective risk management across the Group, including the development of training materials, facilitated workshops, and a central repository for transparency and reporting
  • Lead the top-down risk assessment by interviewing Executive Board members to evaluate potential risks, provide risk-related insights, and identify key mitigation follow-ups
  • Consolidate the annual bottom-up risk assessment for all Markets, Regionally Managed Businesses, and NBS centers, identifying key risk trends and evolutions
  • Analyze and identify insights from both the top-down and bottom-up assessments to inform the company's strategy and contribute to the Group Risk Report
  • Monitor and internally report on risk exposure to senior management, including providing an annual update to the Executive Board and Audit Committee
  • Represent risk management on various executive bodies including information security, issue management, fraud etc. 
  • In collaboration with ESG, lead the assessment and prioritization of ESG issues that are financially material for the Group.  and most significant to the company's strategy
  • Identify and monitor evolving sector and regulatory trends related to risk management, particularly in the ESG area, and assess the potential impacts for the Group, including reporting requirements
  • Oversee external risk reporting in annual filings, debt financing disclosures, and voluntary reporting frameworks such as CDP
  • Represent Nestlé in external risk-related forums and develop risk assessment processes for emerging risks and compliance purposes in collaboration with relevant functions and Markets
  • Build ERM capability within the organization, particularly among CFOs and Heads of Legal in the Markets, to enhance the risk culture and improve the quality of risk assessment through knowledge transfer, external insights, and specific training on key topics
  • Regularly review the ERM Policy and processes to ensure common terminology and aligned processes, while benchmarking with peers and other sectors to promote continuous improvement of ERM


What will make you successful

 

  • Experience in a finance, legal and/or risk function within a large multinational is essential
  • Experience in implementing in risk management frameworks and conducting risk assessments
  • Experience should include exposure to a wide range of risks including financial, compliance, operational and/or reputational within different business units/models
  • Experience in and across the value chain, including the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders to foster collaboration (e.g., R&D, Procurement, Operations, Marketing, Communications, IT etc.)
  • Experience of working in different sectors, regions, and cultures to understand the complexities and challenges of managing risks
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize diverse inputs, both internal and external
  • End-to-end mindset fostering a holistic approach and impacts on the entire value chain
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills to promote transparency and collaborative environment
  • Flexibility, strong listening and moderation skills, and the ability to link cause and effect effectively
  • Proficiency in the English language is essential, fluency in French and/or German is beneficial
