Be a force for good and accelerate change that improves lives and the planet

As an IP Paralegal at Nestlé, your mission is to support Senior Legal Counsels responsible for trademark portfolios and to independently drive intellectual property projects. To support one of our newly integrated Strategic Business Unit, you will play a key role in ensuring strong portfolio management, efficient ways of working and close collaboration with internal business and legal stakeholders. You will make a difference by helping protect and strengthen Nestlé’s brands through accurate trademark searches, portfolio management and legal research.

How you’ll make an impact as an IP Paralegal

  • Conducting trademark availability searches, analysing results and making clear recommendations to the responsible Counsel(s).
  • Managing trademark and industrial design registration processes from filing to grant for specific Business Unit(s), aligned with business roll-out plans.
  • Handling objections from IP Authorities, defensive oppositions and related agreements, undertakings and co-existence terms.
  • Monitoring competitive trademark publications, supporting oppositions where needed and drafting reports on moderately complex legal matters.
  • Keeping internal records accurate by creating and updating files, docketing deadlines and monitoring key portfolio milestones.
  • Supporting legal research, evidence gathering and litigation activities by organising information, sales figures and marketing materials for trademark and design matters.

What will make you successful

  • Bringing solid experience in trademarks within an international environment or a law firm.
  • Working confidently with online databases and web-based IP management systems, ideally Memotech, or showing strong digital agility to onboard quickly.
  • Combining excellent planning and organisational skills with strong accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Being flexible, proactive and collaborative, with the curiosity and agility to work autonomously and take initiative.
  • Being curious about innovation and comfortable working with digital tools, data analytics and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled solutions, to help drive operational excellence and support the future development of our IP services.
  • Communicating fluently in written and spoken English; good spoken French is desirable.
  • Demonstrating courage, collaboration, speed and continuous learning.

At Société des Produits Nestlé S.A., we place people at the heart of everything we do

Our benefits are designed to support your growth and wellbeing, so you can thrive at work and in life:

  • Exciting opportunities to develop your career your way across different brands, businesses, functions and regions.
  • Flexible working arrangements that facilitate creativity and collaboration.
  • A culture of respect, with diversity, equity and inclusion at its core.
  • A dynamic international environment empowering you to learn, develop and grow.

What to expect from our hiring process

The recruitment will be driven by the fit between individual competencies and the requirements of the role. Each candidate whose skills match the requirements of the job will be considered. We are committed to an inclusive and respectful hiring experience and are happy to provide reasonable accommodations if needed.

If you require an adaptation during the recruitment process, please let us know so we can support you effectively. All information will be treated confidentially.

The hiring process typically includes an interview with Talent Acquisition, an interview with the hiring team, and a final discussion and offer. We review applications as they are received and close the role once a strong list of relevant candidates is identified, so we encourage you to apply early. All information is treated confidentially.

Stay vigilant: Nestlé will only contact candidates via official company email addresses and will never ask for payments or sensitive personal information at any stage of the hiring process.
