Position Summary

 

The Immigration Manager will lead and be responsible for all facets of our Swiss immigration program.
 
A high performing immigration program is a key contributor to Nestlé’s growth. We are looking for someone willing to shape and execute our vision and drive the operational excellence of the Immigration team. We'll need you to have both strategic and hands-on immigration experience, as well as a mix of entrepreneurial and large company experience. This position is a great opportunity to lead the vision and direction of an operational and strategic in-house program in a constantly changing environment with the potential to grow the role with a more global perspective.

 

This is a managerial role leading a dynamic team looking to deliver efficient and high-quality service. The immigration team’s mission and ambition are to provide best in-class customer support to employees and internal stakeholders. To deliver this calibre of support, we need a leader who can understand Nestle’s operations, its culture and who is able to adapt to a changing and complex environment.

A day in the life of an Immigration Manager

 

  • Ensure the implementation of the company’s immigration strategy in order to deliver high-quality advice to the business
  • Own all facets of effectively managing our Swiss immigration program
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with leaders and stakeholders
  • Strategize risk mitigation and control of new legislation in Switzerland and globally. In other words: be the guardian of immigration compliance
  • Provide timely, in-depth and comprehensive forecasts, projections and data to the HR executive team
  • Analytically drive the metrics used to evaluate the immigration team’s performance, including speed, efficiency, quality, and thoroughness to meet objectives
  • Demonstrate a management style that encourages participation and ownership, along with a continuous focus on action, customer satisfaction, and personnel satisfaction
  • Coach, counsel, and develop team members to position them for success
  • Determine operational strategies, conduct needs assessments, performance reviews, capacity planning, and cost/benefit analyses; identify and evaluate state-of-the-art technologies
  • Ensure that employees and internal stakeholders consistently receive high-quality, emotionally intelligent support, and build systems to deliver with efficiency
  • Manage and develop relationship with authorities (Swiss-wide)
  • Provide regular trainings to HR community
  • Support the business to manage new employee profiles/trends (e.g. remote workers, business travellers)
  • Vendor management
What will make you successful

 

  • Master’s degree in Swiss law and minimum 5 years of immigration experience
  • Experience in Swiss immigration law at a law or consulting firm or within a multinational company
  • Experience building and managing a high-performance team
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and to meet deadlines in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
  • Strong operational and analytical aptitude
  • Exceptional verbal/written communication skills
  • You speak English & French fluently (a must) and can also communicate in Swiss-German (strong advantage)
  • You’re innovative, creative and constantly looking for ways to optimize processes
