Position Summary  

 

As a Mediator, you will be fulfilling the primary mission of ensuring that our employees evolve in a healthy, inclusive professional environment in line with the Nestlé culture and values. Acting as an alternative confidential point of contact you will be working with individuals and groups to assist them in a neutral and impartial way in the resolution of work-related concerns. The Mediator will complete our Advice & Mediation Service supporting a potential of 8500 Nestlé employees in Switzerland.

A Day in the Life of a Mediator

 

  • Act as a confidential point of contact, supporting and advising employees in difficult professional situations
  • Serve as a counselor, mediator and facilitator, informal fact finder and change agent
  • Assist all parties engaged in workplace conflict to reach a fair solution: welcome, listen, explore various options and empower employees with actions towards resolution
  • Provide neutral advice and coaching to employees seeking assistance in improving their situations
  • Conduct mediations as a neutral and independent third party, adhering to the profession’s code of ethics
  • Identify systemic problems and emerging trends in ways that do not disclose confidential communications or information. Provide general recommendations to the organization for addressing these concerns. 
  • Promote a culture and environment in line with the Nestlé values of Respect, Transparency,  Dialogue and Trust

 

What will make you successful

 

  • Master's or university degree in psychology, work psychology, HR management, law, or related field
  • Mediator certification (FSM certified, CAS or DAS in mediation, or equivalent) or Person of Trust/Ombuds certification with confirmed relevant experience. 
  • Coaching and Mental Health First Aid certifications are a strong asset
  • Extensive expertise in conflict management situations and change management situations (face-to-face interactions, conducting interviews, coaching, etc.)
  • Successful track record in identifying key issues in complex situations and implementing decisive actions or recommendations
  • Strong practical Swiss law knowledge and operational experience is an asset
  • Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality and neutrality
  • Integrity, empathy, diplomacy and sensitivity when dealing with people in difficult situations
  • Strong drive with proven interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills, in particular the ability to effectively listen and act impartially 
  • Prior experience in designing and delivering trainings 
  • Previous experience in international environment
  • Work experience in large companies is an asset
  • Fluent in German (native/proficient) and proficiency in French and/or English
