Position Summary

 

Fantastic Opportunity for an Area Line Manager to join the Wahgunyah Factory, the home of Uncle Toby’s Snacks and Cereals. This role is for you If you are a natural leader with proven experience in people management, and a continuous improvement/LEAN mind-set with the capability to drive improvement through employee engagement and development.

 

Area Line Manager will ensure area production plan is fully achieved on time and in compliance with legal requirements meeting safety, quality, hygiene, cost and environment need. Develop competency and coach the team to continuously improve through Nestle Continuous Excellence (NCE).

 

A day in the life…


Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for driving optimal performance and promoting continuous improvement to ensure your production lines operate smoothly and successfully. Supervising the operation of multiple production lines, your responsibilities will include: 

 

  • Engage & develop the team to identify & prioritise loss/opportunity activities through master planning.
  • Lead & Coach the team to achieve planned performance improvements (Eg: Asset Intensity, loss, complaints & risk) using Nestle Continuous Excellence (NCE) tools & addressing root causes in safety & quality incident investigations.
  • Effectively manage the area (inc Operations reviews) to ensure efficient exchange of information for alignment with the Factory objectives in the short & long term.
  • Support timely launch of new products to the Market as agreed with the business unit.
  • Manage team skill matrices to ensure skill coverage within the team to meet business needs.
  • Provide effective leadership to the team creating purpose, understanding and alignment to the business priorities.
  • Fostering Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE) and Total Performance Management (TPM) principles to build capability and improve areas overall performance.
  • Build & maintain effective working relationships with peers & support departments (1 Team).
  • Achieve a "zero injury, defect, waste" mind-set & promote behaviours that have a positive impact on Safety Health Environment & Quality. 

 

What will make you successful

 

  • Joining a collaborative team of specialists, you will be a strong team leader with a drive to deliver quality outcomes with efficiency and with a passion for continuous process improvement.
  • Experience in a supervisory or managerial role, preferably manufacturing / production environment.
  • Possess knowledge in food manufacturing or degree/Diploma in Food sciences or engineering.
  • Experience in change management and exposure to continuous improvement techniques.        
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, train and develop a group of people        
  • Demonstration of leadership ability by leading a project within a factory environment and coaching of GSTD and white belt problem solving.        
  • Demonstration of Leadership skills recognising performance achievements, in setting expectations, positively confronting inappropriate behaviour and using everyday coaching to develop the workforce.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, problem solving, analysis and decision-making abilities.
