POSITION SUMMARY

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Packaging Technologist to join our Wahgunyah Factory which is home to the Uncle Toby’s Brand. UNCLE TOBYS is one of Australia's most loved and trusted brands making a range of breakfast cereals and nutritious snacks. Our range of nutritious and delicious breakfast cereals and snacks have helped nourish the active Australian lifestyle for generations.
In this role you will act as the key point of contact between marketing team and the factory to develop and progress new products / packaging and cost optimisation projects to commercialisation stage in accordance with the strategic marketing plan. 
 

A DAY IN THE LIFE...

Reporting to the  Packaging Systems Engineer, you will be responsible ensuring that Nestlé standards and procedures are maintained in respect to quality, safety, competitiveness and profitability.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Key liaison between marketing and factory departments
  • Create and develop new packaging options in line with Marketing briefs and Sustainability initiatives by working with suppliers, leading factory teams to organise trials, commissioning, and evaluation of results.
  • Creation and maintenance of all packaging material specifications and Bills of Materials (Raw, Semi Finished and Finished) in SAP and manage technical drawings, artwork and other packaging related compliance documents.
  • Assist in factory trouble shooting activities and build operator knowledge in packaging.
  • Support “Zero injury, defect and waste” mind-set and promote behaviours that have a positive impact on Safety, Health, Environment and Quality.
  • Ensure all products comply with relevant Food & Trade Practices legislation in conjunction with Applications Group Manager.
  • Identify, Participate, & lead packaging material optimisation projects.
ARE YOU A FIT?
  • Tertiary Qualified in Food Science / Technology / Packaging / BSc Material Science Engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years’ experience in Food Manufacturing Industry in Packaging
  • Previous experience and familiarity working with SAP preferred.
  • A working understanding of Australian Food Regulations is beneficial.
  • Joining a collaborative team of specialists, you will be a strong team player with a drive to deliver quality outcomes with efficiency and with a passion for continuous process improvement.
  • Enjoy working within cross-functional teams in a dynamic work environment.

Applicants must be eligible to work in Australia and have Permanent Residency.
