We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join the Engineering team based in our Wahgunyah Factory, the home of Nestlé Uncle Toby’s Snacks and Cereals. This role will lead the technical side of Capex Projects and coordinate contribution of all stakeholders by managing a cross-functional team whose objective is to oversee the capital investments relating to the company's fixed assets.


A day in the life…


Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager and deliver assigned projects by managing safety, quality, cost and timelines at all stages of project life cycle, key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Define the project team, project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Build the investment project charter and ensure that it is strictly followed throughout the project.
  • Ensure compliance with Nestlé standards, local regulations, user requirements specifications, TPM requirements and worker safety during both the construction and the further operation of the plant.
  • Lead the team and coordinate the contribution of all the stakeholders for project implementation.
  • Coordinate efforts with the start-up manager and their team to assure a smooth transition to operations, after the qualification and the verification of the installation have been finalized.
  • Prepare and distribute the project documentation, final report and provide feedback to the Maintenance System.
  • Assure that the investment project charter has been fulfilled.
  • Provide support and act as a liaison with the steering committee and all the project's stakeholders.
  • Keep all the required communication channels open.


What will make you successful

 

  • Joining a collaborative team of specialists, you will be a strong communicator with a drive to deliver quality outcomes against the project charter with efficiency and with a passion for continuous process improvement. 
  • Completion of tertiary study in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical, Automation, Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years’ experience in the Engineering field, preferably working on projects budgeted up to $10 MN.
  • Experience working in food manufacturing environment – preferred.
  • Project Management skills, including developed analytical and budgetary skills.
  • Experience with Hygienic Design, CIP and General Engineering GMP.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and a proven capacity to influence and negotiate to drive high standards of performance and quality.
  • Self-management following defined KPIs/Objectives, and proactively tracking them.
