We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join the Engineering team based in our Wahgunyah Factory, the home of Nestlé Uncle Toby’s Snacks and Cereals. This role will be responsible for leading Capex Projects across the site. In addition to strong technical leadership, this will require the coordination of key business stakeholders and the management of cross-functional teams to ensure high quality project execution.
A day in the life…
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be required to deliver assigned projects while managing safety, quality, cost and timelines at all stages of project life cycle. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead capital projects from concept through to implementation, ensuring project scope delivers on key business goals.
- Build the investment project charter and ensure that it is adhered to throughout the project.
- Ensure compliance with Nestlé standards, local regulations, user requirement specifications and worker safety throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead the project team and manage stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate efforts with the start-up manager and their team to assure a smooth transition to operations.
- Provide support and act as a liaison with the project steering committee.
What will make you successful
- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical, or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent.
- 5+ years’ experience in the Engineering field, preferably working on projects budgeted up to $10M. Experience should cover engineering design as well as project installation.
- Experience working in food manufacturing environment desirable.
- Strong Project Management skills, including developed analytical and budgeting skills.
- Experience with Hygienic Design, CIP and General Engineering GMP.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills and a proven capacity to influence and negotiate to drive high standards of performance and quality.
- Self-management following defined KPIs/Objectives and proactively tracking them.
- Demonstrated ability in managing large installations and ensuring high quality and safe execution by trades teams
