Position Summary
Opportunity currently exists for a Warehouse Shift Manager (night shift) to join the Distribution Centre in our Nestlé Uncle TOBYS Factory in Wahgunyah, Victoria.
Warehouse Shift Manager will oversee the management and supervision of both direct and indirect Labor within our warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that inbound and outbound customer service levels are met while maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards.
A day in the life…
Reporting to the DC Operations Manager, key responsibilities of the role include:
- Ensure timely cost-effective deployment of people and equipment in accordance with agreed standard practices whilst additionally ensuring people and asset safety.
- Provide Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) leadership whereby the entire shift is engaged to a zero accident/injury/incident mentality and compliance to site SHE systems.
- Maintain high NQMS and housekeeping standards.
- Monitor and resolve automation issues for optimal equipment availability.
- Coach and develop warehouse operators and Operations Support personnel.
- Champion a problem-solving culture and integrate Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE) principles
- Facilitate timely two-way communication regarding performance and goals.
- Ensure an effective shift handover meeting and effective upward communication.
- Review individual performance and recognize outstanding contributions of shift personnel.
- Lead and develop a customer focused culture, anticipating customer needs and ensure actions are taken to eliminate customer dissatisfaction.
- Investigate cause of customer service failure and rectify root cause with performance management and/or standard routine reviews.

- 3+ years’ experience in Warehouse Operations (Electronic WMS systems)
- Knowledge of Transport Chain of Responsibility.
- Strong understanding of Supply chain end-to-end relationships and the role a DC plays in delivering high customer service standards.
- Knowledge of WHS standards and application. Return to Work management and injury management.
- Ability to prioritize work and manage your time.
- Clear and effective communication skills are essential.
- The right person must be proactive, thorough, and detailed, with a high level of relationship building.
