The function of this position is: The purpose of this job is to operate the convertors and related equipment, to weigh up, blend, and instantize powder for packaging according to Nestlé USA specifications.


Duties:
1.    Set correct ingredient weights on Hardy Scale panel in accordance with blender batch formula, set order of draw, monitor the drawing up and weighing sequence, and re-compute scale hopper batches as appropriate.
2.    Coordinate with Instant Feed Operator as to the station each ingredient will be drawn from and keep informed as to number of draws remaining at the end of a flavor run.
3.    Regulate Merchen Feeder setting according to established rate or as directed by the supervisor.
4.    Adjust tray inlet air pressure, temperature, and hood vacuum to promote the most desirable drying conditions for the product being produced.
5.    Regulate convertor belt vari-drive motors to insure that correct slaking occurs on belt.
6.    Insure proper screens are installed in rotex sifter and Azo sifter to produce the desired product density
7.    Insure that proper wetting of powder occurs in the hydrator tower by regulating water pressure, temperature, volume, using correct spinner/orifice combinations and insuring nozzle position in the tower is correct.
8.    Operate lecithin system insuring correct amount of lecithin is sprayed into blender as specified by blender batch formula.  Insure nozzles are operating satisfactory and replenish lecithin barrels as required.
9.    Perform the periodic product sample test to insure quality of product meets Company product specifications.
10.    Replenish filter media in plenum room as necessary.
11.    Repack homos, wash towers, belts, trays as needed.
12.    Assist in building cleaning of the work area and weekend cleanup.
a)    Shift cleaning duties as assigned.
13. Maintain records on production and instantizing processes.
14. Operate and monitor all instantizing and related equipment for proper operation.
15. To dump Zeolex into Zeolex feeder when needed.
16. Do ingredient usage using MES/SAP system.
17. Perform sanitation and changeover duties on convertor/processing equipment.
18. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.


                                                                                                   
Responsibilities include:
Materials: Assures proper weighing and blending of ingredients.  Has control over the quality of thousands of pounds of finished product per hour.  Inspects finished product for reject.
Equipment: Operates convertors and instantizing equipment.  Makes timely checks of equipment to assure proper functioning.  Performs routine and scheduled cleaning of equipment.
Safety: Employee shall follow Waverly safety objectives & targets, follow the plant safety rules, report incidents & unsafe conditions immediately, maintain compliance with regulations, and refer to the Safety Management System on all safety related procedures and programs. 
Environmental: This position will adhere to the Nestlé USA Waverly Environmental Policy, the Pollution Prevention Plan, and the Annual Environmental Objectives & Targets. The position will support the continual improvement of energy conservation, solid waste minimization and management, and prevention of pollution within the scope of the position and throughout the plant. 
Records Or Reports: 1.Initiates various records on production and instantizing process.  2.Usage Ingredients in MES/SAP


High school diploma or GED preferred.  
Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
Must have basic proficiency of English language to comply with verbal and written directions, signs, policies and procedures.
Willing and able to stand on a frequent basis.
Willing and able to work overtime.
Willing and able to work various shifts.
Able to lift up to 50 pounds. 


**This is a 3rd shift position: 12 am-8 am with rotating mandatory overtime at the beginning or end of shift.
Pay $28.62/hr.
