POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is accountable for the operational supply of the required industrial services for the plant and ensures the safe reliable and efficient maintenance of the industrial services equipment and supply services for all assigned areas. 

Primary industrial services responsibilities are:

  • Steam and hot water generation and distribution, including condensate recovery
  • Refrigeration and Chilled water (and/or other cold medium) generation and distribution
  • Building Maintenance
  • Compressed air generation and distribution
  • AHU & HVAC system 
  • Contractor Management
  • Energy efficiency and resource conservation of these utilities

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be accountable for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the industrial services to meet the operation’s demand.  This includes direct supervision of the operators and technicians, providing direction, and developing their capability and performance. Industrial Services operation includes ensuring service is provided in the right quantity and quality, reliably and efficiently, minimizing cost and environmental impact.
  • Ensure that the equipment is properly and safely maintained according to the maintenance plan utilizing SAP AMM and Nestlé’s Engineering Foundations while minimizing the impact on production. This includes management of the associated cost with the maintenance budget.
  • Compliance with all federal, state, local and internal Nestle requirements for operation and maintenance of the facilities and machine centers. Ensure all staff are aware of requirements and their responsibility.  Keep plant documentation updated with any changes carried out using the change management process.
  • Ensure the efficient operation of all utility systems minimizing the use of natural resources, energy, and the impact on the environment. Drive resource conversation and awareness within the facility in alignment with Nestle’s Roadmap. This includes leveraging 3rd party vendors to optimize and improve current operations.
  • Close coordination with other departments such as safety, quality, production, finance, human resources, as well as within engineering (maintenance, stores, automation, projects) and externally with vendors, contactors, and regulatory bodies.  Ensure local and corporate management is aware and aligned on all regulatory and NGO contacts.
  • Continuous improvement and execution of capital and operational projects within the IS area utilizing continuous improvement concepts.
  • Develop expertise in the discipline for continuous support and improvement of the operation. Participate in professional activities as required. Review of industry’s best practices and their potential application and benefits.

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Reliability, Chemical, Process or related field) AND 2 years of leadership experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment OR 5 years of supervisory/management experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment OR 2 years in a leadership role in the United States Military.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Prefer 1-2 years of engineering experience, preferably in Industrial Services OR 5 years of industrial services supervisory/management experience.
  • Direct experience in management of mechanics for the maintenance of equipment required. Knowledge of utilities and facility equipment preferred.
  • Ammonia and/or Refrigeration preferred.
  • Experience in a unionized environment is preferred.

SKILLS: 

  • Good organizational and multitasking skills - ability to balance and prioritize multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Strong technical, leadership and management skills. Ability to lead motivate and develop others
  • Competent systems knowledge.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to be able to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project.
  • SAP knowledge is desirable.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies
  • Understanding the requirements of applicable regulations and standards (OSHA, EPA, ASME, ANSI, RMP)
  • Desirable experience in the food industry.
