POSITION SUMMARY:
Introducing Nestlé Purina’s new Williamsburg Township, Ohio, factory – just 30 miles east of Cincinnati. This world-class factory will be built from the ground up to produce a wide variety of some of the most trusted and beloved pet care brands in the U.S. Our passionate team in Williamsburg Township will work in an environment that values safety, the latest technology in manufacturing and a culture of learning. As a Controls Tech Specialist I, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining and enhancing the accuracy, reliability and system control’s data credibility of PLC and PC-based automation systems. You will oversee PLC upgrades and wiring modifications on production equipment, and work directly with our maintenance team to troubleshoot and support production line modifications.
The first several months of this role will be project-related with the goal of planning and developing the department as we approach operational startup. This position will require travel up to 25% until factory operational startup and/or you are fully qualified in your role. There will be little to no travel required once the Williamsburg Township facility is operational. The travel will include training at other Nestle Purina operating facilities.
Once the factory is operational, the shift options for this position will be either 6am-6pm or 6pm-6am, operating on 2-2-3 schedule (two days on, two days off, three days on).
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform troubleshooting of automation systems and provides instrumentation, PLC and HMI/SCADA software and hardware support to the maintenance staff.
- Execute plant projects and capital projects through conception to completion.
- Maintain an up-to-date and complete set of as-built electrical and controls documentation.
- Coordinate and implement control system software upgrades.
- Perform Network Administration and Data Administration tasks for networked, PC based, control systems related equipment.
- Develop, read, and interpret all electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and programs essential to plant operation; provide updates as necessary.
- All other duties as assigned.
Basic Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- 3+ years' applicable experience in PLC software and hardware troubleshooting and/or PC-based HMI systems
OR
- Associate’s Degree in a technical discipline
- 1+ years' applicable experience in PLC software and hardware troubleshooting and/or PC-based HMI systems
Other
- Must be willing to travel up to 25% for training purposes until factory operational startup and/or you are fully qualified in your role. There will be little to no travel required once the Williamsburg Township facility is operational.

The approximate pay range for this position is $61,000.00 to $84,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
