Materials Planning Coordinator

As Materials Planning Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing assigned commodities to ensure 100% availability to meet scheduled production for the new Williamsburg Township Nestlé Purina factory. The primary areas of focus in this position will be inventory monitoring, ordering and expediting, shipping and tracking, building internal and external customer relationships, and regular report generation and analyses. In this role, you will be part of a new and exciting factory team who are bringing their talent and expertise to ‘Stand Taller’ together to create the highest quality products for our pets. The first several months of this position will require travel (approximately 50%) for training purposes to other Nestle Purina factory locations. There will be little to no travel required once the Williamsburg Township facility is operational.

 

  • Coordinate with finished goods planning to determine required quantities of assigned raw materials based on the production schedule and enterprise resource planning (ERP) system
  • Ensure that ingredient inventory balances will support production demand while avoiding excess on-hand
  • Order and track assigned raw materials from outside vendors and sister factories using the ERP and auxiliary systems
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor communications and incorporate procurement team strategy to support contract health and assist in forecasting
  • Assist with freight planning as needed and organize shipments of returned/rejected materials
  • Publish a weekly receiving schedule for assigned raw materials and prioritize unloads
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Operations Planning, Accounting, Production, Warehouse, QA and Procurement to analyze and optimize sourcing and purchasing processes

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent AND 1+ year of experience working in material purchasing, inventory management and/or transportation coordination in a manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, military or related environment

OR

  • Associate Degree or higher in Business, Accounting, Supply Chain or related field AND at least one (1) semester of applicable internship/professional experience

 

The approximate pay range for this position is $42,000 - $59,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
