Position Summary

 

The Operations Start-Up Specialist will play a key role in supporting ASRS capital projects and initiatives to meet business, schedule, and strategic planning objectives, including Laser Guided Vehicles, Monorails, Storage/Retrieval Systems, Robotics, Warehouse Management System and other associated material handling equipment. You will support the ASRS Program team, Supply Chain, and End-to-End Managers and Program Engineering Managers and will focus on the operational side of these projects – including the evaluation and implementation of ASRS equipment, systems and technology, staffing, job roles and organization structures. A key aspect will be consistent collaboration with both internal and external partners including but not limited to Nestle Purina Engineering (NPE), Product Technology Center (PTC), Technical Applications Group (TAG), Quality Assurance (QA), Safety Health and Environment (SHE), Product Supply, Digital Manufacturing, Factory Operations, Leadership, and Vendors.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop a project strategy based on a situational awareness of the ASRS details and the groups being impacted

  • Lead identification of cross-functional operational requirements, current operations assessment, and success criteria development for ASRS

  • Collaborate/align on operational requirements in Design Reviews

  • Provide input to and track operations budget, schedule, milestone deliverables and resources

  • Provide input into materials and production planning during commissioning and start-up phase

  • Develop and manage the master start-up / ramp-up plan for the commissioning, qualification, and verification phase

  • Map work processes and identify standard working routines; create and implement routines to sustain the standards; ensure adherence to standards; update standards in response to improvement or change


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

  • 7+ years' of warehouse automation or project management experience in a manufacturing, industrial, military, or related environment.

  • This position will be located in St. Louis and requires domestic travel up to 75% of the time to factories
