Position Summary

The Operations Startup Specialist will play a key role in supporting capital projects and initiatives to meet business, schedule and budget objectives. This position supports the End-to-End Project Manager and will focus on the operational side of these capital investments including the evaluation and implementation of business processes, equipment, systems and technology. A key aspect of this role will be consistent collaboration with both internal and external partners including but not limited to Nestle Purina Engineering (NPE), Product Technology Center (PTC), Technical Applications Group (TAG), Quality Assurance (QA), Safety Health and Environment (SHE), Human Resources, Product Supply, Digital Manufacturing, factory operations, leadership and vendors.

In this Operations Startup Specialist role, you will work with stakeholders from all business units to analyze, define and document all necessary changes as well as translate new requirements into training-related materials and documentation for factory users. As the subject matter expert on operational processes, the Operations Startup Specialist will be expected to act as an effective coach for associates at all levels of the business.

• Support E2E Project Manager with scope development, operational budget, risks, success criteria and key operational requirements and milestone identification
• Plan, prepare and coordinate operational pre-commissioning/commissioning, qualification, ramp up and startup activities
• Develop functional testing procedures and lead commissioning/qualification execution and reporting, including tracking of progress relative to recruiting, staffing and training
• Collaborate with project team and operations to ensure safety and line readiness (factory acceptance testing, machine risk assessments, site acceptance testing, etc.)
• Track progress of development and implementation of key standard routines, total productive maintenance (TPM) readiness and 5S
• Ensure factory associates are trained and competent to standard and facilitate successful startup and smooth transition to operations
• Drive the achievement of business objectives such as line performance, safety measures and product qualification
• Complete proactive and effective handover of the project to the operational team including proper documentation and resources

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, project management and/or commissioning in an industrial, military or related environment

OR

• Associate's Degree and 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, project management and/or commissioning in an industrial, military or related environment 

The approximate pay range for this position is $81,000 to $101,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
