POSITION SUMMARY

As a Quality Assurance Operations Supervisor (QA Operations Team Leader), you will be responsible for the development, management, and compliance of the factory’s Quality Assurance (QA Main Laboratory and QA Operations Programs) to ensure all products are manufactured, packaged, stored and shipped under safe conditions and to ensure compliance to Company and regulatory requirements. You will lead a team of QA Technicians and training and coaching on QA Operations Programs for all associates. You will assure compliance to Quality and Food Safety Standards including FSSC 22000 and ISO TS-22002.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage daily QA Operations and Processes to ensure compliance with mandatory standards and principles which include Food Safety, Regulatory and Quality Requirements. Including trouble calls for off shift and weekend coverage as needed.
  • Ensure that all QA Laboratory activities comply with internal and external safety, quality, and environmental policies and procedures
  • Work closely with Corporate Quality Assurance to implement divisional programs and initiatives at the factory
  • Manage ingredients program, finished product releases, and hold programs
  • Support and facilitate in-process, finished product, and formulation changes for new product introductions, updated products, test runs, specification changes, and product improvement efforts
  • Act as a change leader to ensure continuous improvement in Quality compliance
  • Assist in obtaining solutions for batching errors and raw material variances/substitutions
  • Review daily compliance reports and collaborates with process owners to reduce variance on selected attributes
  • Review product release reporting daily to ensure releases are conducted and documented per corporate policies
  • Drive continuous improvement within Factory and Laboratory processes.
  • Direct supervision of QA Lab staff including maintenance of employee relations, lab safety and training shift hand-offs, daily communication, and involvement in hiring decisions, involvement in associate growth and development

 

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of laboratory, quality assurance and/or food manufacturing experience required
  • 2+ years supervisory experience required

 

Other

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in science related field (Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, related technical field) preferred
  • PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) Certification preferred
  • HACCP and Food safety knowledge preferred

The approximate pay range for this position is $63,000 to $92,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
