Position Summary

 

We are looking for a Mechanical Project Engineer to join our engineering team in Bromborough. Your role will be to manage and install capital engineering projects within approved budgets and agreed time scales.

A day in the life of...

 

As a Mechanical Project Engineer you will be responsible for the delivery of engineering projects with a particular focus on waste reduction.


Other key day to day activities will be:


• Assist the management of projects (mechanical and or process biased) to completion within agreed timescales and costs and promote proper hygiene and safety standards.
• Support full compliance with Health and Safety Legislation and site rules
• Commissioning of plant and equipment to predetermined standards
• Assist development of scope and budget for C1’s and CWO’s; develop timing plans
• Control the activities of third-party contractors on site
• Liaise with Operations and other on-site resources for project work and with R&D, Marketing, Logistics regarding scope, time plan and budget
• Assist multi-disciplined teams to achieve project targets
• Be aware of the environmental impact of role and compliance with site environmental requirements
• Reporting any SHE incidents or concerns
• Contribute towards site SHE objectives

What will make you successful

 

To be successful in this key role we expect you to ideally have experience working in a manufacturing maintenance environment and have strong service orientation amongst internal stakeholders with lots of proactive initiative and attention to detail.

 

Other key attributes we are looking for are:

 

• High calibre engineer with Degree or HNC
• Good project engineering experience within a manufacturing environment – preferably food products or FMCG
• Good technical knowledge and practical experience of working within Health & Safety legislation (CDM, CE, and DSEAR desirable)
• Good knowledge and understanding of process and packaging equipment
• Good knowledge and understanding of building woks and site services
• Good communication skills, comfortable presenting ideas to groups
• Good project management skills, including scope, budget control and planning work
• Computer literate - including MS-Project, MS-Office, AutoCAD LT and SAP
• Able to manage time pressure and multiple projects/priorities
• Financial management skills: reviewing, controlling and forecasting, purchasing and price negotiation
