Job Title: Silo Farm Technician
Location: Bromborough, Wirral
Shifts: 4 on 4 off - Days based - 07:00 – 19:00. (Monday - Friday 07:00 - 15:30 during initial training)
Salary: £32,105.60 starting salary, increasing to £40,132.00 upon successful completion of initial training (expected duration up to 12 weeks)

We are currently looking to recruit a Silo Farm Technician to support our supply chain and logistics team at our site in Bromborough.
A day in the life of a Silo Farm Technician
As a Silo Farm Technician, you will administer and execute the Factory inbound silo delivery schedule to ensure that services to the factory are maintained safely, on time, and in full. The position requires strict adherence to Nestlé's GLOBE Inbound Materials Handling and Quality Management (QM) Best Practices, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulations to foster a safe working environment.
Other Key responsibilities of this role will include:
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with GLOBE Inbound Materials Handling and QM Best Practices, including high safety standards and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
 - Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections of stored materials to prevent spoilage and contamination, while implementing pest management strategies. Administer the intake of silo deliveries, verifying the quality and suitability of materials, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
 - Operational Efficiency: Ensure the smooth operation of silo systems, minimizing downtime through regular maintenance and timely repairs.
 - Reporting and Issue Resolution: Provide regular reports on silo performance and promptly address discrepancies or issues related to inbound deliveries.
 - Collaboration and engagement: Foster clear communication and collaboration with suppliers, logistics teams, and internal stakeholders. Provide technical support and assistance to colleagues as needed
 
What will make you successful?
- Understanding of Silo Operations: Familiarity with loading, unloading, and storage processes to ensure efficient silo management.
 - Communication Skills: Ability to effectively report issues and collaborate on solutions with colleagues and stakeholders.
 - Quality Testing: Proficient in conducting quality tests on grains or other materials, including moisture content analysis and contamination checks.
 - Compliance and Safety: Knowledge of Pest Management: Awareness of pest management strategies and compliance with safety standards to maintain a safe working environment is beneficial.
 - Teamwork and Collaboration: An ability to work effectively in teams to achieve common goals and enhance operational efficiency.
 - Computer Skills: Experience using SAP and other computer systems for inventory management and reporting. An ability to perform general mathematic calculations related to inventory and quality testing is also essential.
