Scope
This is an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Specialist (Indirects) to join the Procurement Team at Sincereal Group during a period of significant transformation and growth.
Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you will take ownership of strategic sourcing and category management across key indirect spend categories for both the UK and French Sincereal sites. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape procurement strategy, streamline and enhance procurement processes, and deliver measurable value across the business.
Managing categories including logistics, engineering services, MRO, utilities, waste management, cleaning services, facilities management, and other factory-related contracts, you will be responsible for driving commercial value through effective sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
A key focus of the role will be developing and negotiating robust supplier framework agreements, ensuring contracts align with business objectives and deliver value throughout their lifecycle. You will also play an important role in strengthening procurement governance, ensuring all sourcing activities are compliant, auditable, and conducted in line with company policies.
Working closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Quality, and Site Leadership teams, you will lead sourcing projects from requirement definition through to implementation, while building strong stakeholder relationships and influencing decision-making across the business.
This role requires a commercially minded procurement professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is comfortable navigating ambiguity, and enjoys delivering results through collaboration and continuous improvement.
This position is based at the Bromborough UK site, with occasional travel to suppliers and the Itancourt, France site. Hybrid working flexibility is available.
Role Purpose
To deliver sustainable value through the development and execution of strategic sourcing and category management initiatives across indirect spend categories. The successful candidate will own the end-to-end procurement process, ensuring sourcing activities are compliant, commercially robust, and aligned to business objectives. They will lead procurement projects from stakeholder requirement gathering and RFQ development through supplier negotiation, contracting, implementation, and supplier performance management.The role is responsible for establishing strong procurement governance, driving supplier accountability, and delivering measurable improvements in cost, service, quality, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute category strategies across indirect spend categories including logistics, engineering services, MRO, utilities, waste management, cleaning services, and other factory-related contracts.
- Lead end-to-end sourcing activities including stakeholder engagement, market analysis, RFQ development, tender management, supplier evaluation, negotiation, contract award, and implementation.
- Prepare detailed RFQs that accurately capture stakeholder and business requirements and translate these into clear sourcing and evaluation criteria.
- Negotiate robust commercial agreements and supplier framework contracts that deliver value, mitigate risk, and support long-term business objectives.
- Manage supplier relationships and contract performance to ensure agreed service levels, performance targets, and value commitments are fully realised throughout the contract lifecycle.
- Identify and deliver cost reduction, cost avoidance, process improvement, and value creation opportunities across assigned categories.
- Establish and maintain strong procurement governance, ensuring sourcing activity is conducted in a compliant, transparent, and auditable manner.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders across Operations, Engineering, Finance, Quality, Supply Chain, and Site Leadership to align procurement strategies with business priorities.
- Monitor supplier performance, contract compliance, market trends, risks, and opportunities, providing regular reporting and recommendations.
- Support procurement process improvement initiatives and contribute to the continued development of procurement capabilities across the business.
- Maintain accurate procurement and contract records within relevant business systems.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, regulatory requirements, and internal audit standards.
What will you make successful
- Minimum 3 years' experience in procurement, with demonstrable experience in indirect procurement, category management, and strategic sourcing.
- Experience managing indirect spend categories within an FMCG, manufacturing, food production, or similar operational environment.
- Proven experience sourcing and managing categories such as logistics, engineering services, MRO, utilities, waste management, cleaning services, facilities management, or related indirect spend areas.
- Strong commercial acumen with proven success in contract negotiation and delivering measurable value from supplier relationships.
- Experience developing and negotiating supplier framework agreements and managing suppliers throughout the sourcing and contract lifecycle.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility and challenge constructively at all levels of the organisation.
- Strong understanding of procurement governance, compliance, and audit requirements.
- Demonstrable experience leading competitive tender processes and developing detailed RFQs and supplier evaluation methodologies.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities within a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Comfortable working in a business undergoing transformation and able to navigate ambiguity with a pragmatic and solutions-focused approach.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Experience using ERP systems and procurement tools.
- CIPS qualified or working towards MCIPS is desirable, but not essential.
- Willingness to travel occasionally both domestically and internationally.
