We’re looking for a Fabric Engineer to join our industrial service maintenance team in Wisbech.

Your Impact
The Fabric Engineer plays a critical role within the industrial service maintenance team at our Nestlé Purina Wisbech factory. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the effective maintenance and repair of various fabric structures and systems, contributing to the overall operational efficiency and safety of the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reactive Maintenance: Respond to reactive works within the team to address immediate maintenance needs and ensure timely resolution.
- Maintenance Task Management: Ensure maintenance tasks, including site electrical maintenance and general fabrication, are completed within agreed timescales.
- Site Surveys and Repairs: Conduct site surveys and perform repairs on floor and wall coverings, as well as manage ceiling tile repairs and replacements.
- Planned Maintenance: Complete planned maintenance tasks on building fabric and water systems using a computerised maintenance management system.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure that all works are carried out safely and in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Regulations, while also undertaking additional tasks as directed by the Services leader.
Your ingredients for success
The ideal candidate for the Fabric Engineer role should possess a combination of technical skills, practical experience, and a proven ability to effectively maintain and repair fabric structures and systems within the factory environment.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Technical Qualifications: Electrical or mechanical qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) is essential, with an electrical qualification (BS7671 18th Ed) considered a bonus.
- Health and Safety Compliance: A commitment to adhering to safety regulations and standards. Please note that the role would require working from heights.
- Computer Literacy: Proficient in using computer systems for maintenance management and record-keeping.
- Organisational Skills Ability to organise oneself to manage assigned tasks effectively and determine material requirements.
- Collaboration and Support: Experience in assisting engineering staff with a wide range of duties, demonstrating a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to compile accurate records of tasks.
