We have an excellent opportunity for an Material Planner to join our Supply Chain team in Wisbech.

Our Wisbech factory makes some of the UK’s most well-known and much-loved brands, such as Felix, Winalot and Gourmet and is constantly developing to meet the changing needs of our consumers. Your Impact

 

As a Material Planner, your primary responsibility is to ensure the availability of materials in alignment with production requirements. This role focuses on achieving stock cover targets while minimising total delivered costs, thereby supporting seamless manufacturing processes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Material Availability: Ensure raw and packaging materials are available On Time In Full (OTIF) and meet quality standards at the best overall cost in accordance with the purchasing plan.
  • Scheduling: Schedule materials based on proposed purchasing requisitions to maintain efficient production flow.
  • Collaboration with Production Teams: Work closely with production teams to coordinate the call-offs of materials from various plants, ensuring alignment with manufacturing schedules.
  • Stock Management: Define, monitor, and optimize stock covers for raw and packaging materials, managing obsolete stock and overseeing the write-off processes.
  • Vendor Performance Monitoring: Monitor vendor performance and ensure effective communication and collaboration with all internal partners in the factory, purchasing, and external partners such as suppliers, customers, and transport providers.

 

Your ingredients for success

 

As a Material Planner you will possess proven planning and organisational skills, along with a solid understanding of supply chain dynamics and material management.

 

Required Skills and Experience:

 

  • Material Planning Experience: Proven experience in Material Planning or a similar planning/scheduling-based role is preferred.
  • Supply Chain Knowledge: Experience in Supply Chain Planning within a factory or FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) environment is preferred.
  • Technical Proficiency: Highly computer literate, with proficiency in SAP and/or OMP (Operations Management Planning) being preferable.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both internal and external, with an ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Organisational Skills: Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail, essential for managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
