Job Title: Labour Planner - Confectionery

Location: York Factory

Salary: circa £27,500 PA (depending on experience) + potential bonus + other Companywide benefits

 

This role is based full time on site servicing the York Factory.

Position Summary

Nestlé York Factory is the home of the iconic confectionery brand Kit Kat amongst several other well-known brands such as Aero, Polo and Yorkie.

We’re currently recruiting for a Labour Planner to join our team and help drive operational excellence through effective labour planning.

As Labour Planner, you’ll be responsible for delivering a forward-looking labour plan that enhances efficiency, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness. You’ll play a key role in improving our labour planning processes and systems, ensuring the right people are in the right place at the right time.

 

A day in the life of a Labour Planner…

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating and maintaining an optimal labour plan for the York site, considering skills, training, holidays, absence, restrictions, and Working Time Directive guidelines.
  • Collaborating with Line Performance Managers, Supply Chain Planners, and our external agency provider to ensure effective workforce allocation.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for labour adjustments in response to plant performance or shortages.
  • Delivering Labour KPIs aligned with the Factory Operational Master Plan.
  • Driving improvements in our labour planning system (PeoplePlan) and reporting processes.
  • Maintaining and enhancing a skills matrix to support workforce mobility across departments.
  • Managing the relationship with our agency labour provider, ensuring service quality and escalating issues as needed.
  • Ensuring accurate collation of worked hours for agency payroll and timely invoice processing.

 

What will make you successful?

 

We’re looking for someone who:

 

  • Be computer literate and previously used Microsoft Excel and other IT software.
  • Proven track record working in a fast-paced environment under pressure and be comfortable with multi-tasking.
  • Be a self-motivated individual who enjoys a challenge, take ownership of own work and balance workload effectively.
  • Have a proven track record working in a role that requires attention to detail with an interest in process improvement.
  • Communicates well with the ability to influence without authority and enjoys working with vast diverse teams.
  • Not essential but a previous exposure to manufacturing environment would be desirable
