Position Summary
We have two opportunities to join the Supply Chain team at York as a Deep Sea Export Shipper.

A day in the life of...
Your role will be to ensure the operational execution of the deep sea shipping export process, ensuring compliance with all local and international legislation. You will be the first point of contact for customer queries regarding shipping and documentation, working with a customer service mindset.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
• Book the correct equipment with the nominated shipping line to collect Export orders from various despatch locations in the UK. Ensuring that all bookings are confirmed in writing.
• Make sure that the correct equipment, collection dates and haulier details are entered on Nestle systems for Deep Sea shipments. Keeping the despatch locations updated on expected Exports.
• Prepare the Customs paperwork and be able to provide the necessary information to HMRC if the container is selected for inspection Have knowledge of how to apply for DEFRA certification if it is a market/product requirement.
• Develop knowledge of Export declaration systems, ensuring each delivery has a valid customs declaration to enable smooth transit via the shipping line.
• Liaise with external and internal agencies as required, maintaining good relationships.
• Provide timely and accurate progress information to the markets/Supply Planners of their documentation/shipments.
• Use and keep record of the transport allocations set by the Global Transport Team. Check and verify freight accounts against these allocations.
• Maintain market information for each country of Export to ensure others can deputise as and when required.
• Be aware of and implement any changes in exporting regulations.
• Manage the level of service provided by transport suppliers, recording issues for corrective action to be taken if the service falls below satisfactory levels.
• Assist in achieving distribution cost targets.

The successful candidates will have a flexible approach to working hours and the ability to work well as part of a wider team.
• High degree of accuracy
• Ability to demonstrate a customer service mindset
• Working proactively identify potential problems and come up with solutions
• Knowledge of Windows systems and preferably SAP
• Experience of international shipping and legislation would be beneficial
