Standard working hours: 6:50am-3pm and 09:50am-6pm – Rotating weekly
Working days: Monday-Friday – weekly working hours 40.83 weekly hours
Salary: £27,781.74 inclusive of contractual overtime and shift allowance + potential bonus + generous pension scheme + other fantastic benefits!
Annual contractual overtime of 64 hours is included in the salary. These additional hours can be full shifts and can be scheduled Mon-Sun, excluding Bank Holidays and will be paid at the normal bank holiday OT rate.

Position Summary
We have a fantastic new opportunity in our York Distribution Centre for a Fulfilment Centre operative. You will play a key role in getting our household brands shipped out to our customers and consumers!
This role sits within our YDC warehouse in York, with responsibilities across the e-commerce web shop and food service pick and pack operations.
Quality and pick accuracy is essential in this role to deliver the required customer and consumer experience.
As well as quality, being safety conscious and confident to challenge unsafe behaviours to ensure we avoid incidents will also be key for this position.
A day in the life a Fulfilment Centre Operative
The main purpose of this role day to day will be the picking and packing of customer orders.
Other key responsibilities of this role will include:
- Adhere to all Standard routines and safe working practices.
- Ensure compliance in management of inventory and associated Quality controls (Recording evidence)
- Maximize internal and external customer service by ensuring timely and accurate despatch of goods, while adhering to OFC practices as defined within the NLQM guidance.
- Use good housekeeping and OFC practices, including clean as you go mindset, to always maintain a clean & safe working area.
- Promote good teamworking and effective communication between shifts and the management team, while fostering collaborative efforts to strengthen upstream and downstream process relationships and deliver end-to-end results.
- Successfully identify and deliver opportunities for process improvement while also leading and supporting project delivery in the OFC, aligning with personal and business goals.
- Support the delivery of KPIs and be involved in the reporting of these in relevant operational review meetings.

What will make you successful
Ideally, you will come to us with experience in a similar Distribution or Fulfilment Centre environment.
Other qualities will include but not be limited to:
- Experience of coordinating multiple work streams and prioritising where necessary.
- The ability to work closely with key stakeholders across Nestle and within the immediate team, so demonstrating good communication skills
- A passion for customer service and ensuring the customer gets the right product on time.
- A continuous improvement mindset always looking to improve ways of working along with the ability to problem solve.
