We are looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to join our York Factory, the home of Kit Kat, Aero, Polo and more! The role will play a key role in supporting operational leaders to deliver business performance through people. This is a hands‑on, fast‑paced role in a factory environment, requiring a strong balance of commercial partnering and operational HR expertise.

Reporting to the Senior HR Business Partner, you will work closely with factory leadership, managers and employee representatives to provide pragmatic, solutions‑focused HR support across the full employee lifecycle.

Your impact

  • Act as a trusted HR partner to site leadership and line managers, aligning people plans to operational and commercial priorities
  • Provide expert advice on employee relations, including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management and performance issues in a unionised / manufacturing setting
  • Support organisational change initiatives
  • Lead and support case management, ensuring consistency, compliance and timely resolution
  • Coach and upskill managers in people management, leadership capability and employment best practice
  • Use HR data and insights to identify trends, inform decisions and drive continuous improvement
  • Support engagement initiatives and actions to improve retention, attendance and productivity
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation, company policies, and site agreements
  • Partner with the wider HR team on company‑wide projects and initiatives

 

Your ingredients for success

 

 To be successful in this role you will already have a fantastic breadth of Employee Relation HR Lead Experience), ideally with previous experience within the Manufacturing or an FMCG operation (desirable not essential).

Essential:

  • Strong employee relations expertise, including experience working with trade unions
  • Sound knowledge of UK employment law and its practical application

Desirable:

  • CIPD qualified (Level 5 or above) or equivalent experience
  • Experience supporting 24/7 or multi‑shift operations
  • Experience of change management in a factory or industrial setting
