Location: York – minimum 3 days per week in office.

Salary: £37,000.00 - £42,000.00 depending on experience.

Your impact

 

This role has a wide scope of impact delivering to and receiving goods from up to 120 different markets, it enables the distribution of UK products to all over the world and similarly enabling the import of some of our most fantastic brands to enable our consumers to enjoy the delights of all our offering.

The key responsibilities but not limited to are 

  • To develop, lead and coach the Ocean Freight Shipping Team, ensuring adherence to best practice and driving a customer service mindset whilst also managing the annual people process and people agenda for the Deep-Sea Export Team.
  • To be the lead operational contact for all relevant Categories/Markets for the Ocean Freight shipping and actively contribute to IMS overall strategy development
  • Act as the market facilitator for the UK’s involvement in Global Shipping tenders, supporting the process across IMS, DSP, OHUB and Zone on behalf of the UK market
  • Manage communication and information flow between specialist agencies, Government bodies and HMRC to ensure Nestle UK's compliance with all European and Global requirements.
  • Manage the UK relationship with the OHUB and our nominated carriers, including management of SLAs for on time collection by the Shipping Lines.
  • Act as the contact for the UK Network team, participating in all relevant Network Planning requests. Ensuring capacity availability, problem solving and collaboration with the Despatching Sites
  • Manage Ocean Freight Import Clearing Agents to ensure strategically placed to become best in class for the UK by evaluating the best solution for all businesses and ensuring clearance agents adherence to key KPIs
  • To support the ongoing improvement of the overall IMS agenda via the OMP deliverables                                                

 

Your ingredients for success

 

Preferably, you will come to us with experience in Ocean Freight however other Logistics experience will be considered.  

 

The person that would be best suited to this role:

  • Minimum Three to five years’ experience in a fast moving, high pressure high service environment (FMCG Preferable)
  • Operational experience in at least one of: Logistics, Customer Solutions or DSP. Experience of dealing with or working for customers or suppliers (distributors, retailers, etc)
  • Familiar with International Trade practices and procedures, incoterms and customs requirements
  • Proven qualities of accuracy and attention to detail. Proven ability to Manage a team and work under pressure and meet a number of different deadlines.
  • Experience of leading and developing people beneficial.
  • Proven ability to manage customer expectations and responsiveness to a high standard
