We are recruiting an exciting opportunity for our Flagship Automated Distribution Centre at York, the facility currently supports Key Nestle brands that need to be imported or exported from the North of England, currently this facility houses 80 Logistics Team members and houses a 10 strong Engineering Team. This facility is receiving significant investment from the business to evolve and be fit for the future.
This is a new position to the facility and will play a key part in the current leadership team . and contribute to the wider Market Engineering Team. This role is needed to fulfil the change management program that supports our evolution within Digital and robotic logistics, this will undoubtedly transform the York site. This role will be responsible for an established team, they need a strong and innovative leader who wants to strengthen, develop and harness our team.
Your impact
As an Engineering Manager you will provide engineering professional and technical leadership in the Factory, ensuring compliance to standards, rules and regulations, ensuring people health and safety, product safety and environment are never compromised and that all engineering activities enhance business objectives, product quality and plant operation and performance.
Other key day to day activities will be:
- Provide engineering leadership in the Distribution Centre for a wider engineering team as well as direct reports. The role scope covers all the production units as well as site services and utilities.
- Ensure engineering compliance is maintained providing safe equipment for people, product and the environment.
- Provide maintenance management for the site, including PM and AM Pillar Leadership within a TPM environment and the use of SAP PM Maintenance management system.
- Responsible for developing and managing the sites Maintenance budget.
- Support Engineering Project team with the implementation and delivery of CAPEX projects on site.
- As a member of the site’s Management Team you will help the development of the Operational Master Plan, drive the continuous improvement mind-set and align the Engineering function to support its delivery.
Your ingredients for success
To be successful in this key role we expect you to ideally have experience leading team of skilled engineers in a fast-paced blue chip manufacturing maintenance environment.
Other key attributes we are looking for are:
- Engineering Degree/ Diploma preferably in Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
- Demonstrable experience in TPM and leading AM/ PM pillars.
- Proven relevant experience in engineering or automation management.
- Experience in people development and management tools (including personal development plan, talent review, coaching, competencies training, career & succession planning, recruitment and compensation).
- The ability to demonstrate clear knowledge and understanding of continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding a zero failure mindset within the engineering function and the determination diligence to deliver it.
