What will you do? 

Joining Nestlé’s 12-month Logistics Placement Scheme will see you gain fantastic exposure into the workings of how the world’s largest food and drink manufacturer transport both raw materials and finished goods across the UK and Europe. We are incredibly proud of our Transport Hub (THUB) and teams who are often recognised for being the best in the industry. On this scheme you will have a unique opportunity to learn and be mentored by experienced professionals whilst developing your logistics knowledge, problem solving and negotiation skills - all before you’ve even finished university.  

 

What makes this Logistics Placement exciting? 

  • Learn from expert mentors: You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with experienced mentors who will guide you through the intricacies of the transport industry. From understanding how transport loads are planned in a cost effective and sustainable way through to managing in the moment problems that arise.  

  • Negotiate with suppliers: Engage in negotiations with suppliers, gaining hands-on experience into achieving the right solutions for Nestlé that will help enhance your skills and understanding of the wider workings of our supply chain. 

  • Manage daily operations: Be given accountability for specific areas of the day-to-day transport operations, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently. 

  • Develop innovative solutions: Work on creating effective solutions or opportunities to meet transport deadlines, honing your problem-solving abilities in real-world scenarios. 

  • Make impactful decisions: While you’ll be here to learn and grow, you’ll also have multiple opportunities to make meaningful decisions that will help shape the future of the Transport Hub. Your contributions will support our success. 

 

What will you learn? 

  • Understand industry challenges: Gain insights into how the likes of Brexit has impacted our operations and learn how we navigate complex challenges, including global events like wars and pandemics. 

  • Sustainability: We have a progressive sustainability agenda, you’ll learn what this means and could work on projects that have a direct impact on reducing our CO2 emissions.  

  • Problem-solving: Use the skills you develop during the scheme to respond to challenges whilst identifying opportunities and implementing solutions that continue to make our logistics operations best in class. 

  • Adaptability: Embrace the opportunity to collaborate with diverse teams, cultures, and our wider supply chain teams whilst developing essential soft skills such as communication, leadership, teamwork and much more.

Eligibility requirements 

You will need to have the right to work in the UK that is not time-limited and does not require sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route either at the start of the scheme or on completion.   
 

You will be in your penultimate year of study in any degree discipline - what’s also important is your commitment to the scheme and your willingness to learn. 

 

The recruitment journey

If you qualify, we will invite you to complete an online assessment, which you can practice here. Please do not upload a CV, instead we ask you to upload any relevant qualifications to support your application.

 

Once you have completed this stage, we will notify you if you are selected to attend an assessment day which will be in February or March 2026. It may take a little bit of time between assessment stages to get back to you; we really appreciate your patience.
