Job Title: Electrical Engineering Manager
Location: York
Salary up to £58,000 depending on experience + car allowance + potential bonus + generous pension scheme + 12 flexible days on top of 25-day holiday entitlement + 2 paid volunteering days + other fantastic benefits!

Position Summary
The Electrical Engineering Manager is based on site and is an integral member of the Engineering Leadership team, not only are they responsible for the site compliance with legislation for machinery and our workforce but they are the driving force of projects and continuous improvement of the digitalisation, obsolescence and delivery of TPM 7+4 in York Factory. This is an exciting management role that will have a key influence in delivering electrical, automation and digitalisation on site.
Nestlé York Factory is the home of the iconic confectionery brand Kit Kat amongst several other well-known brands such as Aero, Milky bar Buttons and Yorkie These are produced through controlled process plant and automated filling and packing lines.

A day in the life of an Electrical Engineering Manager
To monitor the electrical distribution and control systems to contribute to the safe and efficient running of the sites within the Senior Duty Holder’s jurisdiction. This will include an overview of all work on the system, approving specifications, and designs, validating installation, testing, and commissioning. The role holder will need to play a major part in helping to maintain the Group electrical standards and safety procedures and implementing these together with statutory and local safety standards and procedures on the site(s). The role holder shall also be responsible for ensuring compliance with those Regulations and standards currently in force.
Other key responsibilities will be:
• Manage and control projects within the site capability site standards, this varies due to skill set and are always focussed on the continuous improvement of the site
• Ensure that all LV and HV maintenance is carried out in accordance with regulations.
• Ensuring that Electrical Duty Holders, Assignees, and Technicians have the appropriate competence, aptitude and are appointed to work on the electrical network.
• Support project teams in the preparation of budgets to ensure statutory and company requirements for electrical maintenance and compliance are met.
• Take ownership on factory / departmental projects – example looking to upgrade obsolete control systems.
• Act as the contract manager for various electrical 3rd party contracts.
• Look for ways to reduce electrical energy. When projects are carried out, ensure that the interfaces with electrical engineering are well managed and that following implementation, all documentation is updated as necessary.
• Be the custodian of the digital roadmap, including DMO module role out, Scada migration / development.
• Lead the MES/Automation strategy ensuring the factory can drive its cost competitive edge with the support of E&A Engineers.
• Ensure as a site owner for machinery safety compliance with corporate standards and law being met
What will make you successful
To be successful in this key role we expect you to ideally have experience working in a FMCG food or similar industrial automation environment and have strong service orientation amongst internal stakeholders with lots of proactive initiative and attention to detail.
Other key attributes we are looking for are:
• Knowledge and experience for PLC systems, preferably Allen Bradley and Schneider.
• Exposure to TPM, preventive maintenance planning and/or maintenance execution desired but not required.
• Apprentice trained or NVQ Level 4 equivalent in a relevant electrical engineering discipline.
• Demonstrable knowledge / experience working in Automation and / or MES engineering with Electrical experience within a manufacturing environment (preferably FMCG).
• Proven track record delivering digitalisation within manufacturing (i.e. Industry 4.0)
• Previous experience of utilities plant and project management.
• Qualification in Machinery safety or working towards such as CSME or TUV
