Position Summary
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a developing team within a global business as a Senior Service Specialist. Your role will involve managing cross border deliveries and engaging key Nestle stake holder and our pool of carrier, with attention to detail around compliance, cost and driving service performance by proactively identifying and resolving potential issues.
Our head office in York has been chosen to become the base of Nestlé’s first European Transport Hub. The T-Hub has responsibility for planning and executing Nestlé’s transportation within Europe with a view to simplify and standardise our European transportation processes. We are managing the transport of intermarket flows between Nestlé‘s European factories and distribution centres, as well as inbound raw and packaging materials from our major suppliers where opportunity arise.
Your Impact
You will perform a variety of roles that range from ensuring lead times reflect lane expectations with customs to finding solutions to unplanned delays, dealing with the unexpected but ultimately ensuring that all European market queries are dealt with and every load arrives, and if it doesn’t – why not. All this whilst supporting the KPI balance of cost and service and driving long term process improvements for the team. As a Senior Service Specialist, you will manage escalations within the team and support the training of fellow team members.
Responsibilities will include:

Monitoring of customs requirements per lane ensuring they are up to date and available to carriers

Proactively influencing internal and external stakeholders, reactive and proactive relationship building to deliver a quality service.

Point of contact for any service related incidents and escalations
-
Completing coaching, training and audits amongst your peers
-
Leading process improvements initiatives
-
Preparing and presenting slide decks for review within the transport department and external partners

You will be proactive and creative to find solutions. You will have strong communication skills, the ability to build effective working relationships and a problem-solving mentality.
You will also:

Be fluent in English (speaking and writing) - Essential

Exposure to the Logistics and transportation industry essential with the ability to evidence roles

Proven track record in service-related roles serving a wide community
-
Have an understanding of how to manage conflicting business demands - Cost vs. Service
-
Proven track record in mentoring/coaching other team members
-
Relevant Computer Systems skills minimum Intermediate – data analysis competency level intermediate minimum
