Location: York
Salary: Circa £40,000 basic salary depending on experience + potential bonus + generous pension scheme + 12 flexible days on top of 25-day holiday entitlement + 2 paid volunteering days + other fantastic benefits!
This role works Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week, however you should be flexible and willing to adjust your schedule to meet the dynamic needs of the business. There may be occasions when you will need to travel to other sites within the Nestle UK&I network.

Position Summary
Nestlé UK&I is seeking a skilled and talented Transport Safety Advisor to join our Nestlé Fleet transport operations. Our transport operation is a unique and integral part of Nestlé Logistics and supports our internal sites and external customers. The transport fleet is a dynamic and essential component of our Supply Chain, helping us meet our Global Net Zero targets.
We distribute Nestle products from a broad range of categories including Confectionery, Beverage, Food, Dairy, Waters and Cereals, between our factories, distribution centres and also to our customers, whilst working collaboratively with our third-party transport providers.
Our supply chain really is at the heart of our entire business. The success of Nestlé relies on its ability to effectively manage our hugely complex operation. We possess one of the most sophisticated value chains from farm to fork, putting the consumer at the heart of everything we do.
A day in the life of a Transport Safety Advisor
As a Transport Safety Advisor, your main responsibility will be to lead and support the operations team in creating a safety-focused environment where safety is of utmost importance and non-negotiable. Working closely with the Logistics and Safety Health & Environment community to prioritise transport-related safety within the Nestle Fleet and collaborate with the wider Nestle in the Market operations, including 3rd Party Logistics and factory-related transport matters.
This role will be instrumental in implementing best practice Contractor Management processes, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and driving a culture of safety through continuous improvement in safety performance.
As the department Security Champion, you will also be accountable for safeguarding assets, personnel, and operations. Strong leadership, exceptional organisational skills, and an understanding of transportation regulations and best practices are key to success in this role.
Responsibilities will include:
• You will provide guidance, coaching, and support to the operational team
• Foster a positive safety culture through effective communication, training, and engagement.
• Collaborate with the Logistics SHE Manager, operational managers, and trade union representatives to develop and implement corrective actions and preventative measures to eliminate or reduce transport-related workplace hazards.
• Provide advisory and support capacity to factories and third parties to identify the root cause of safety-related incidents and take appropriate action.
• Promote accurate record-keeping for health and safety training, health assessments, permits to work, risk assessments, SSOW, COSHH, and other critical documentation.
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits of the workplace to identify vulnerabilities, threats, and areas for improvement.
• Drive and support the delivery of initiatives which further promote a safety culture or help protect assets, personnel and business integrity.

We’re keen to attract someone to be an ambassador for Nestle working both internally and externally with our Third Parties, and with the following skills and experience:
Ideally, you will have a SHE related qualification and a background in Transport/Logistics within the FMCG industry. A working knowledge of Transport Operator Licensing and regulations would be desirable.
• NEBOSH certificate/diploma or equivalent
• Working knowledge of transport management legislation
• Strong leadership skills and ability to lead by example.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to earn respect.
• Ability to work autonomously whilst maintaining compliance with business policy and practices.
