A day in the life of...
Reporting to the York Factory Planning Manager, you’ll be responsible for maximising customer service through the effective management of the availability of ingredients and packaging. It will be your responsibility to ensure management of master data and timely supply of ingredients and packaging for York Factory to meet customer demands within the agreed service and stock targets, supporting our categories.
You will also be responsible for creating and managing a short-term plan recognising all constraints within the supply stream for those assets you manage, to meet customer demand.
You will build and maintain strong relationships with the Factory Operations teams and Suppliers ensuring adequate supply of ingredients and packaging to meet the factory plans and support customer service.
Other key responsibilities will include:
• Working with various suppliers to ensure availability of ingredients and packaging to meet production dates whilst appreciating internal storage constraints.
• Creating and amending purchase orders and managing blocked invoices.
• Supporting NPD (new product development) by managing pack changes effectively and minimising bad goods.
• Managing stock projections and ensuring the production plan meets our demand requirements.
• Reacting to changes in the MPS plan to ensure that we are making the right products at the right time to satisfy customer demands.
• Working closely with Operations to create a detailed production plan that appreciates the constraints of the assets for both packing and manufacturing.
Your excellent communication skills with both internal and external customers will ensure that any customer service issues are resolved to the customer’s satisfaction as quickly and effectively as possible.
What will make you successful
You will ideally come from a background in Supply Chain or Production; however we will consider people from other functions. What is important is that you can deal with a variety of customers and establish rapport with a diverse range of people.
This role will require you to be attentive to detail, have a systematic approach and be process driven. You will have an overriding desire to not only achieve KPIs, but to exceed them.
In addition, you will possess an ability to self-motivate and strive towards individual goals; balancing this ability with the desire to support your colleagues. Above all, you will push service delivery boundaries to ensure our customers receive the highest level of service.
This is a great opportunity to work within a talented and dedicated team, in what will be a challenging role. In return we will offer you all the support and guidance necessary to succeed.
