Position Summary

 

We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Supply Chain team at York as a Deep-Sea Export Team Leader.

A day in the life of...

 

Your role will be to lead and support a team of Deep-Sea Export Shippers and ensure the full operational execution of the deep-sea shipping export process. Ensuring compliance with all local and international legislation. You’ll be responsible for planning and supporting the development and training of the team to create a best in class, sustainable value adding function.

 

Key responsibilities for this role include:

 

•    Manage and execute a smooth and safe daily freight forwarding operation by advising and coaching team members in documentation processes for all deep-sea exports. 
•    Lead and coach team to instil a customer service mindset into everything we do.
•    Manage communication and information flow between specialist agencies, Government bodies and HMRC (SGS, Bureau Veritas, CDN, DEFRA Port Health Authorities, HMRC and their agents, Veterinary officers, French Milk Certification) to ensure Nestle UK's compliance with all Deep-Sea requirements.
•    Ensure accurate and timely export documentation provided to the deep-sea markets to allow their smooth importation at destination
•    Develop the understanding of commodity codes and their impact on export declarations within the team in order to avoid any costs which may be imposed thereby maintaining the reputation of Nestle UK with HMRC.
•    Lead the team on both transport and documentation, ensuring they are at their best and up to date with any changes to regulation/legislation, whilst also finding ways to improve team efficiency.
•    Oversee the electronic declaration process of Nestle UK's export declarations, managing any escalated issues
•    To resolve any escalated issues from the team to maintain supply of loads from all Nestle facilities
 

What will make you successful

 

We are looking for a driven, self motivated individual that is comfortable leading a team as well as working with stakeholders both internally and externally. The successful candidate will ideally have a background in logistics or DSP and can demonstrate knowledge of international trade practices and procedure.

 

•   Proven ability to lead and develop a team
•    A customer service mindset
•    Knowledge of Windows systems and preferably SAP
•    Experience of international shipping and BREXIT legislation would be beneficial
