SENIOR MOBILE SDET

The Role:

As a Senior Mobile SDET, you will be responsible for the ownership, evolution, and operational excellence of Nespresso’s mobile automation frameworks across Android and iOS platforms. Working under the technical direction of the Automation Engineering Architect, you will ensure mobile automation solutions are scalable, stable, reusable, and fully integrated into DevOps and CI/CD pipelines, enabling consistent adoption across product and project teams.

You will collaborate closely with product teams, mobile developers, DevOps engineers, and fellow Quality Engineering specialists to drive sustainable automation practices and improve automation coverage, reliability, and release confidence. The role plays a key part in reducing automation-related incidents, unblocking teams facing automation challenges, and enabling self-service adoption of mobile automation frameworks across the organization.

In This Role, You Will:

• Own, maintain, and evolve Android and iOS automation frameworks, ensuring scalability, stability, reusability, and long-term maintainability.
• Define and implement mobile automation standards, shared libraries, utilities, and execution practices that support consistent adoption across teams.
• Integrate mobile automation frameworks into CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows, enabling reliable and efficient automated execution.
• Support execution across BrowserStack, device farms, simulators, and emulators while ensuring secure and stable test execution.
• Leverage AI-powered capabilities to improve test design, execution optimization, flakiness detection, automation self-healing, and engineering productivity.
• Support product and project teams by resolving automation challenges, improving automation coverage, and increasing framework adoption.
• Provide coaching and technical guidance to Automation Testing Engineers and contribute to Communities of Practice, standards, documentation, and best practices.
• Evaluate new tools, technologies, and execution approaches through proofs of concept and provide recommendations for adoption.

What We’re Looking For:

• 7+ years of experience in Test Automation, Quality Engineering, or Software Engineering, with strong expertise in mobile automation.
• Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining scalable automation frameworks for Android and iOS applications.
• Hands-on experience with mobile automation technologies such as Espresso, Compose UI Testing, XCUITest, Appium, or equivalent frameworks.
• Strong experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Fastlane).
• Solid software engineering background, including version control, code reviews, branching strategies, and framework maintainability practices.
• Experience working with cloud-based mobile execution platforms such as BrowserStack, device farms, simulators, and emulators.
• Strong understanding of Quality Engineering principles, including Automation First, Shift-Left Testing, Quality by Design, and Product Quality Ownership.
• Experience supporting multiple product teams in federated or product-led delivery environments.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot automation challenges, improve framework reliability, and reduce flaky test executions.
• Strong communication, collaboration, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience leveraging AI-powered tools and techniques to enhance automation capability.

Extra Skills That Set You Apart:

• Knowledge of mobile application architecture, API integrations, and backend services supporting mobile ecosystems.
• Experience with observability platforms, quality analytics, or telemetry-driven testing approaches.
• Experience contributing to Communities of Practice, reusable engineering assets, standards, or automation governance initiatives.
• Knowledge of cloud-native technologies, containerized environments, and modern DevSecOps practices.
