Job Summary:
The Supply Planning Specialist (Bulk Planning) plays a critical role in ensuring the strategic alignment of bulk production plans with Nestle Health Science USA business objectives, inventory targets and manufacturing capabilities. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining accurate, capacity-constrained bulk supply plans across manufacturing sites, leveraging systems such as Oracle, SAP/APO and AS400 to support long-term visibility and operational efficiency. As a Supply Planning Specialist, you will work strategically with Production, Supply Planners and also with other Corporate functional heads to support reducing costs, while realizing optimal inventory levels. This position will be either a remote or hybrid role based on the selected candidate’s geographic location. Strong preference will be given to applicants who live within a commutable distance within Bridgewater, New Jersey, Arlington, Virginia or Solon, Ohio.
Responsibilities:
• Create and maintain an 18-month long-term bulk production plans that align with finished goods requirements, capacity constraints, and inventory targets.
• Regularly update and refresh planning files and templates to ensure accuracy and alignment across APO, Oracle, and AS400 systems; this includes validating inputs, refreshing formulas, and ensuring timely uploads to support planning cycles.
• Planning to reflect realistic operational limits/capacity constraints and be updated bi-weekly or more frequently during sensitive periods.
• Conduct variance analysis on receipts and production data, identify significant swings, and collaborate with finished goods planners to resolve discrepancies.
• Establish thresholds for exception-based planning.
• Partner with Factory Managers, Schedulers and Supply Chain stakeholders to align on production schedules, capacity constraints and raw material needs.
• Monitor bulk inventory across SAP and AS400, ensuring accurate tracking of produced inventory, reworks, bad goods and transfers.
• Track freshness metrics of bulk inventory to ensure timely consumption and minimize aging stock risks.
• Collaborate with quality and production teams to flag and resolve potential bad goods issues before they impact finished goods planning.
• Define and maintain minimum and maximum inventory thresholds for bulk materials to support optimal production flow, reduce waste and prevent shortages.
• Act as the liaison between the finished good planners and short-term bulk site planning to properly determine the priorities of the business and mitigate risk.
• Maintain planning master data, performing routine maintenance to ensure system integrity.
• Engage in LEAN, End to End Value Stream continuous improvement initiatives to improve costs and efficiencies throughout our manufacturing and planning process.
• Deploying bulk to the sites needing to package.
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration is preferred.
• 3+ years of experience working in a Supply Planning or Supply Chain function required, preferably within a Manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated fluency in MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint) is required.
• Must have excellent communication (oral and written), presentation, organizational and stakeholder management skills (including the ability to develop and maintain strong, cross-functional stakeholder relationships).
• Willing and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision required.
• Must be agile and have both excellent time management and critical thinking skills.
• SAP experience is required.
• Experience with additional ERP systems like JDE or Oracle a plus.
• Current or prior experience in Production Planning is highly desired.
• Willing and able to travel up to 10% based on the needs of the team and the business required.
The approximate pay range for this position is $75,000 to $85,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as geographic location.
