Opportunity currently exists for an Operational Buyer to join the Supply Chain team in our Campbellfield Factory. The Campbellfield factory produces confectionery brands such as Kit Kat, Milky Bar, Smarties, Aero, Soothers, QuickEze, Chokito and many more which delight consumers worldwide.
In this role, the Operational Buyer is responsible to execute the activities, procedures, reporting and communications with respect to purchasing of raw and/or packaging materials as well as other sundry items to support the factory manufacturing plan.
A day in the life…
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Assist in Safety, health & environmental (SHE) standards and to carry out duties and specific responsibilities in compliance with SHE Policies and Procedures relating to Warehouse and Shippering.
- Management of vendors, holding them to account on Delivery in Full on Time via quarterly reviews.
- Management of quality incidents via QP system within designated area as participation in internal audit program.
- Ensuring system health is maintained by performing regular master data health checks and adhering to BCP requirements.
- Management of UTZ and RSPO portals and documentation.
- MRP of ROH and Pack materials, commodities forecasting, shipping and supply.
- Management of inventory of commodities, ROH & Pack materials. Management of run out of materials to minimize impact of write off costs.
- Promote continuous improvement and as part of the team proactively seek new & improved methods of working to increase efficiency in the overall forecasting/purchasing.
- MRP planning, ensuring materials are available in time for production requirements.
What will make you successful
- Joining a collaborative team of specialists, you will be self-motivated, proactive and have a proven capacity to work effectively within a team environment.
- Extensive knowledge of Procurement processes and materials covering Global Commodity processes including Importing, Shipping, MACC, Commodity Forecasting.
- Local and International Supplier Management.
- Knowledge of stocks and workable inventory levels mitigating risk of OOS while optimising inventory.
- Experience working with SAP, MS Office WORD, Power Point and EXCEL.
- Ability to understand internal/external stakeholder needs, negotiate solutions and keep stakeholders informed.
- Understand the impact of changes upon the factory and prioritise tasks.
- Able to go the extra mile to support colleagues. Ability to "own" areas of responsibility and self-generate solutions to solve problems (and escalate if required).
- Enjoy working within cross-functional teams in a dynamic work environment.
