Position Summary

Lead some long-term Category and Market Share growth within the Grocery Retail Channel developing the strategic recommendations in terms of category growth driver activations, promotional plans and merchandising leveraging category, consumer, shopper and customer insights.

 

 

A day in the life of a Grocery Retail Channel Manager

 

  • Lead the activation of the Category Strategy and the category Strategy drivers across all Grocery retail customers to deliver the triple win: win for the shopper, win for the customer and win for Purina.
  • Build the Local Channel strategy within grocery retail, support the recommendation internally and implement accordingly working alongside key stakeholders.
  • Ensure the optimal distribution of our ranges by defining the priorities, proposing and aligning action plans with the Sales community, tracking progress and action corrective measures when need be.
  • Develop and activate the strategic approach to assortments, promotions, merchandising and tariffs for all grocery retail channels and sub-channels and plan for optimal investment choices (Strategic Revenue Management).
  • Build strong understanding of the Petfood Category on European & local level to leverage internally and with customers. Identify and communicate to Europe the local needs and local expectations in order to contribute to the local growth of the category.
  • Coordinate the Commercial Planning (ICP) process through relevant recommendations to drive the commercial priorities and objectives ensuring a strong alignment between the category, sales and marketing strategies.
  • Establish winning commercial propositions for the Grocery field sales plans.

 

As Grocery Retail Channel Manager, you report to the Purina PetCare Head of Category development and are part of a very capable and dynamic thriving team.

 

 

What will make you successful

 

  • Minimum 3 years of commercial experience in FMCG, ideally in some category development role combined with some customer facing role.
  • Experience in the PetCare category a plus.
  • Familiar with the everyday use of Nestlé tools (SAP, PowerBi, APO)
  • Capable of running data analysis to uncover insights
  • Proactive collaborative mindset
  • A strong sense of initiative with the will to make a positive difference to the business and the teams.
