Position Summary
The Marketing Manager will be responsible for leading the MAGGI brand agenda across South Africa and supporting broader ESAR growth ambitions. The role will develop and execute brand strategies that drive consumer penetration, market share, revenue growth, profitability, and long-term brand equity.
The successful candidate will be a commercially minded marketer who can translate consumer insights into winning growth strategies, lead innovation and renovation pipelines, deliver impactful communication campaigns, and influence cross-functional stakeholders across Sales, Category Development, Consumer Intelligence, Supply Chain, Finance, and Agencies.
This role requires a strong balance of strategic thinking, execution excellence, analytical capability, and leadership.
A day in the life of a Marketing Manager - MAGGI:
Brand Strategy & Growth:
- Develop and execute annual and long-term MAGGI growth strategies.
- Drive penetration, consumption frequency, and household recruitment.
- Lead portfolio strategy across noodles, seasonings, soups, and future growth platforms.
- Identify business opportunities and risks through continuous performance monitoring.
- Own the MAGGI brand health agenda and recommend actions to strengthen equity.
Innovation & Renovation:
- Lead innovation and renovation projects from concept to launch.
- Identify consumer, market, and channel opportunities.
- Manage product launches, relaunches, packaging improvements, and communication plans.
- Partner with R&D and Technical teams to ensure consumer-led innovation delivery.
Consumer & Market Insights:
- Convert consumer and shopper insights into actionable growth opportunities.
- Monitor competitor activity and emerging category trends.
- Lead consumer research initiatives and translate findings into business actions.
- Build compelling growth stories supported by market and consumer evidence.
Integrated Marketing Communications:
- Develop and execute winning communication campaigns.
- Manage creative, media, digital, PR, influencer, and activation agencies.
- Ensure consistent brand execution across all touchpoints.
- Measure campaign effectiveness and optimize ROI.
Commercial Leadership:
- Partner closely with Sales and Category teams to deliver growth targets.
- Support channel strategies and customer presentations.
- Drive promotional effectiveness and shopper marketing initiatives.
- Influence pricing, pack-price architecture, and revenue growth management decisions.
Financial Management:
- Manage the brand A&P budget.
- Deliver strong return on marketing investments.
- Track campaign performance and financial outcomes.
- Develop business cases for strategic initiatives and growth investments.
Stakeholder Management:
- Lead cross-functional project teams.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Influence senior leadership through data-driven recommendations.
